Nutrien Winter Shines Festival

Great winter festival for families and young kids as there is lots to do for them but there is also things to do at it for people of all ages. Most of the events are outdoors so depending on the weather and the day it could be quite chilly out but there are a few places to warm up. The festival starts Saturday of the Family Day long weekend and goes all week long till till the following Saturday as kids are out of school all this week. It is 8 days of winter fun. Most of these events take place at Friendship Park along the South Saskatchewan River and near the Remai Modern Art Museum and River Landing. I went during the day to check it out and some of my favourite things were the ice and snow sculptures as well as the ice slide. Some other of the many events they have are road hockey, sleigh rides, snowshoeing and a whole lot more. I also went back in the evening near close to get some photos when it was all lit up with lights.

Beautiful ice sculptures and making winter fun!

There were fun activities for kids, weather was extremely cold the day we visited but fire pit in the middle of the park made everything better. There was a slide for kids, igloo, ice hockey on the road. Must visit if you’re in Saskatoon
