Tasty Korean treats that are often difficult to find, perfect to snack on whilst exploring Koreatown. Walnut cakes are the specialty here (and what the store is named after) and come in 3 different flavours - mashed potato with walnut, red bean with walnut, and mashed potato and almond. You can mix and match giving you the perfect excuse to try them all! The brown sugar hotteok is delectable, just be mindful that the filling can remain hot for a little while when the hotteok is freshly made. There’s a small but reasonable amount of seating available at the rear of the store.

I used to come here occasionally in university for a quick snack/dessert.Quality and pricing is consistent, get delicious street food desserts such as walnut cakes and fried sugar filled pancakes, and bingsu for affordable prices.Variety of traditional and other flavours for everything. The owners are very nice and they make everything fresh in front of you. Washrooms downstairs are clean.Note that there's a minimum for card payment

Good Korean desert, red bean, pan cakes with brown sugar, walnut cake, hotteok, madeleines in the heart home little Korea close to Bloor and Christie. We have enjoyed this authentic Korean bakery's offering for well over two decades. The walnut cake is legendary and we love that their baked goods aren't overly sweet!

I absolutely love their walnut cakes (mashed potatoes & walnuts) and pancakes (brown sugar). The pancakes are best eaten warm when the melted brown sugar is still gooey. I haven't tried their shaved ice yet - a dessert I've been craving for a long time!

2023 May 4★Still great. Still here for a reason. The Chun Byung $22 for 57pieces comes in a plastic box with a three flavors: Seaweed, almond & peanuts.Made of simple ingredients: Wheat flour, Sugar, Milk, Eggs, Margarine, Butter, Baking Soda & Salt. Better than store bought.2022 September 4★This store has been here for many many years and is one of the original stores in Korean Town. Been to this store for over 30 years as of writing and finally technology has caught up for a review. There are two items here that are the most popular. The walnut cakes shaped like a walnut and the Chun Byung which is seasonally made due to high humidity during the summer months.Tried the Madeline and it was ok. A dense finger cake.Walnut cakes 6 pieces @ $3.75, 12 @ $7.50, 30 @ $15, 66 @ $31. Suggest getting the 30 pieces.Chun Byung 6 @ $3.50, 26 @ $11, 57 @ $22. Suggest getting the 57 as this is a favorite.Free One hour parking is available on the side streets and it's just a walk away.Would recommend.

Red Bean Binggsu - this mountain of snow is ginormous and covered with not-too-sweet red beans, canned fruits and sprinkling or toasted rice flour. The shaved ice's texture is smooth and nostalgic, like the fluffy snow that comes with the first fall of snow in the winter.Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts!

The walnut cakes are delicious, not so sweet and you would never know that it's filled with potato or red bean. The madeleine's are a perfect treat to have with your coffee or tea or just on their own. Simply delicious. The pancakes are out of this world, soft but crunchy on the outside filled with a nice sugary surprise once you bite into it. Everything here is so good and brigs so much joy.
