Dr. Tee is fabulous with my horse and donkeys. She takes the time to answer all of my questions and discusses everything with me in detail. The technician who comes to assist is knowledgeable and friendly as well. As a technician myself, I appreciate the opportunity to have open and mutually respectful conversations about different protocols and suggestions.

After having read many of the reviews about Markdale Veterinary Services, I felt compelled to add my own experience for those looking to become clients.We have had excellent experiences with the doctors and receptionists at Markdale Veterinary Services. We have had horses, goats, cats, dogs, and our family cow seen by the doctors here, and each received great knowledgeable care. I have never had to use them for specialty issues (we see an extremely experienced and specialized poultry vet for our chickens), or for after hours emergencies so I cannot speak on those services — however, we have found it to be very easy and seamless to schedule appointments and have animals seen on a regular basis.Coming from Newmarket/King City Ontario, we find Markdale prices very affordable, particularly for our livestock. Comparing our small animal bills from Markdale with previous bills from big city vets, even still their services are more affordable. The bottom line is, up to a certain point you get what you pay for, so if you expect quality care you need to be prepared to pay the price for quality.We used Markdale for an emergency with our farm dog when he was kicked by one of our horses. Fearing an injured leg, we brought him in to be seen as a same-day emergency (which, understandably, costs more than a regular appointment). The receptionist, Kate, was very kind and accommodating and did everything she could to fit us in, inbetween regularly scheduled appointments. We were recommended to take x-rays to confirm whether our dog had sustained any hairline fractures to his leg, which we did decline and opted for the pain management and observation course of treatment that was also offered to us. We did not at any time feel pressured to perform X-rays or other treatments on our dog. Our vet explained that diagnostic workups (blood work, X-rays, additional testing etc) are beneficial as they allow an in-depth look at the animal and can determine issues that cannot be seen or felt from the outside, and that these images would be able to immediately confirm or deny the issue which would quicken the proper course of treatment. Thankfully, our dog healed just fine with the pain management given and additional testing was not needed. Kate did call me once or twice the following week, to follow up with us and check on our dog’s progress.In a recent car crash we were involved in with our horses, Dr. Jim (who is now retired from Markdale), heard of the accident and asked friends who had stopped to help us if our horses needed medical attention that he would be willing to provide. I was blown away by the generosity shown by Dr. Jim and MVS to help their clients in a time of need.In conclusion, we would recommend Markdale vets due to their compassionate, caring attitude towards our animals, ease of availability/scheduling, and affordable prices. We are happy to use Markdale for our animals’ basic healthcare needs and will continue to do so in the future.

For years my pup suffered from a bad rear infection while we were with a different vet. One month with markdale vet he no longer sufferers. They have us meds that actually works and my boy is the happy fun playful boy he once was. I'm so happy

Markdale Vet have been caring for my horses for more than 20 years. In every facet of the good, the bad, and the heartbreaking they have been thorough, knowledgeable, honest and very caring. They are respectful of their clients and truly value your opinions. When the wonderful Dr. Jim was phasing into retirement (which brought cries of Noooooooo!!!! echoing throughout Grey County), and Dr Tee Fox was beginning her position there, they requested I provide them with an honest opinion/review of my first appointment with her which surprised me. Tee, of course, is an absolutely awesome equine vet!! Her vet tech is wonderful too. We have had fantastic care from Drs. Matt, Chris, Marika and Heather, as well as the desk team Melissa, Sarah, and everyone else. Always follow up calls from everyone involved.I’ve never experienced better vet care.

They love my dogs! I can tell my dogs are comfortable as they simply walk right to the examination room! Sometimes right into the back room just to say hi! They greet my girls at the door and treats are always there to keep them focussed. Vets are informative and let me decide the next steps with confidence. It’s pricey these days to have a pet, but our girls are cared for.

I have been taking my pets to Markdale Vets for 14 years, I love their genuine love and care for my furry babies. Also love the family pet healthcare payment plans, makes it even easier to adequately care for my pets. We always get tve right treatments for them too! I highly recommend these vets.

Since adopting our cat, we have had nothing but good experiences going here for his check ups and vaccines. We had one emergency and were able to go on very short notice, the staff are very friendly and professional and were able to address our kitty's needs.
