Saskatoon Animal Control

Animal control does a great service to the city of Saskatoon in almost all aspects, from the office staff to the officers sent out to retrieve animals...that is except for one female officer who refuses to do her job to the full extent...every other officer completes their duties, but not this one entitled female...her lack of fulfilling her daily duties gives animal control a bad name...I suppose her entitlement comes from the length of time she's been employed and no one holding her accountable. The rest of the employees are polite, timely, helpful, both in the office and out in the field.

I was charged and chased by a very aggressive dog who came into my yard and tryed attacking me. I was more surprised he didnt bite me. Animal control arived promptly and delta with the situation very well. Thank you.

Always promptly pick up animals that I’ve caught in my yard.

My dog had run away and I called animal control multiple times (with an in-depth description of my dog and his tags.) Only to find out that they caught my dog within 5 minutes of him being out of the house and took him to the SPCA. I worried for hours only to find that out. Not even a response of “yeah we caught him he’s at the SPCA.”

So far I am very upset about response times. The poor animal has been confined in the capture cage for at least 10 hours maybe more. They say they will get here when they can but according to the paperwork they gave me they are breaking their own rules. I’m in tears.

They killed my friends two dogs before there was any hearing to reclaim them. They burst into the home like they were above any law, and entirely rude and uncaring. I just finished babysitting one of the dogs, and you could not find a more loving dog, but, to spite the owner, they killed both before court could decide the case. Inhumane and cold.

So we adopted a dog from rescue. He was abused from his previous owner. Recently he jumped our fence or somehow escaped, running scared and through traffic. As much as everyone was trying to help out it scares him more as people approach. One person called the SPCA for them to come help but I said would only make it worse. I enclosed my nice safe dog to a park circled by fencing and just sat on a bench waiting for him to come to me as he played. Animal control shows up and immediately writes us a ticket and interrogates is like the police and then just gets in her ( Angela ) vehicle and drives off. Completely useless of why she was even called which was to help. We were nothing but nice and complying with her. Complete disappointment of Saskatoon animal control and what their role is in this city. Meanwhile as owners were scared out of our mind hoping our dog doesn’t get it trying to rescue him. So my advice to anyone who needs animal control help would be not to call them because they’ll just ticket you just to feel some sort of a power over you.

If it had a law that could deny people getting A second pet after they have abused the first without having to have EVIDENCE of the cruelty... but just an eye witness.Then i know it would be better.Since it would PREVENT any future animal cruelty...I think they should change that thing about it since not everyone can get physical evidence of the animal cruelty.

The animal control looked at me with stink eyes and literally seemed so bitter and snickered at me. I literally came in for information in the morning and it felt like I wasn't welcomed there. I couldn't believe how rude the atmosphere felt like.
