Passport office

Here is my experience on July 13, 2022:I got there at 5 AM, there were already 20 some ppl in line. Keep in mind, the lineup is OUTSIDE the building, bring a camping chair and warm cloth.At 7 AM the staff allowed ppl go inside the building and started to triage ppl based on:1. if you already have an application mailed in or submitted to another office2. if you are travelling within 48 hours3. general walk-in applicants whose travelling date is between 2 to 45 business daysfolks are divided into 3 lines respectively. At this point it's no longer a “first come first serve”, the first 2 lines are given priority, which is understandable.I'm within the 3rd line. By the time I'm done, it's 11:40 AM. Yes, it's a bit longer than usual, but as I expected before I go there, under the current situation (huge backlog)My comments:1. The staffs there are awesome: friendly, considerable, and tried everything possible to make everyone's experience as smooth as they can2. To some of the negative comments I see here, all information is available online. I know most of the applicants are frustrated right now, but the staff did not make these policies. They did their best to serve.

After waiting more than 5 hours. I was told, that I wouldn't be attended because, there was a lack of employees and to come back. I have been trying to get my passport without success. It's seem like you have to arrive at 5 am to be able to.

Super fast, in and out in 45 minutes at midday. Very efficient and pleasant staff.

Do your research about what you need, arrive a bit earlier before they open, and you should be helped within good time and no issues. Security will most likely let you in early to avoid keeping you out in the cold. The people here are knowledgable and quite friendly.

No issues with the service, but, doesnt the Capital of a developed country deserve a more dignified Passport office, with a ticketing system, sufficient parking and seating area? This building and location is poorly appointed for the service it offers!

Tip: if you’re travelling within two days they are triaging people. The 1-2 days people jump to the front of the line. So you could show up closer to open (8:10) rather than waiting for hours. Also if you’re just checking up on the status of your application you also get triaged. NOTE: this was valid on may 16,2022. It may change.

Please go to left of mall main entrance where it says service canada. I went early but was waiting atThe mall entrance instead)My experience: Nov9thReached there at 4:10am. Was 2nd in line.By 8 am line was around the corner so about 50+ people I think.At 8 am they opened doors and put in in two lines one for urgent processing(travel in 48hoirz) + people with kidsAnd other line for walk-in .Process was very smooth and very helpful personnel.Was out at 920am.
