Was so happy to find this place. In a city the size of Toronto there appear to be only two places to repair your cable box, assuming of course, you think the rental rates are silly. One is in Thornhill and they only work on PVRs (expensive) and don't really want to talk to you on the phone. This is the other shop, central location, and they will work on any cable box and you can phone them too. I took in my 10 year old box, non PVR, which had been working fine until a family member plugged a space heater into the same power bar as the TV. After the surge it worked on 90% of the channels but not on demand" and about a dozen misc channels would not "tune." CSI turned the unit around in 3 business days -- wow -- and gave me back the old parts

We own a Rogers NextBox 4K that had been showing signs of a hard drive failure over the past year or so. It finally died/wouldn't reboot last week and by Googling I found that the Cableshoppe repairs these units. I took it in last Friday, and it was ready for pickup on Monday afternoon, after they installed a new drive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The price was not overly expensive, with a 1 year warranty as well. We did NOT want to switch to Rogers Ignite (we're on Bell Internet, not Rogers...and like it that way) and although we wanted to continue to have a PVR, we did NOT want to rent a PVR from Rogers (can only rent, as new ones are no longer being sold). So the repair was exactly what we needed. I highly recommend the Cableshoppe if you need your PVR repaired.
