Macleod’s Canteen
The canteen is open in the summer and is a good service to have in this area. The beach is a great stopping place for hikers and tourists, and it is nice to have this business available. The beach has some of the most visually amazing geologic outcrops. Check the store hours before going.

Canteen was only selling ice cream. Line up was huge. The only way to buy lunch was from a food truck with a 35+ min wait. Not the same service I have come to expect from this place. I hope things can improve for them and they can get some more staff.

Loved the view, we collected seashells on the beach while we worked up an appetite. We got fish and chips to eat on the outdoor picnic tables. It was delicious and fresh. We also finished it off with yummy, Nova Scotian made, scooped ice cream!

Food took a very long time to arrive. It wasn't overly busy ? Service fellow at order counter was very nice and professional. Food was good . But a bit pricey for what you receive. Beautiful views

Drove up from Ottawa to Nova Scotia for the week and my experience at MacLoed has been a highlight of this trip! Our waiter Marjanah was very funny and knowledgeable! She really helped make our experience better!

The fish and chips was great, sizeable portion, not greasy. Wasn't as impressed with the vanilla milkshake, but whatevs- it's a beach canteen. The location is gorgeous though!
