The info desk and security were very helpful in assisting me with finding where I was going to write my test. (I'm not a student and the test was run through another organization just using a lecture hall at the university)

I had a great time at Lakehead U. The residence is nice and convenient, allowed me to meet so many great friends. There were lots of fun things to do.My professors and the staffs were all really friendly, approachable and super helpful. Appreciate everything I’ve got from there ❤️

We travelled in January to Lakehead for a Tour of the campus. WOW - friendly tour guides who knew answers to all of our questions. They showed us so much about life on campus, classes, residences and the various gym facilities. Highly recommend the trip is you’re contemplating LU for post secondary.

I had met some amazing people in Thunder Bay. That is the only good thing about this town (called city but it’s definitely not). The university is collapsing. Its days are numbered. The facility is from World War 2. Most staff are lazy and incompetent. Some are extremely rude and racist. Quality of students is insanely low. Cheating is rampant, and the list goes on. Weather is brutal half of the time. For international students, you are paying top dollars to be tortured. If you are young and ambitious, go to big cities like Toronto or NYC. There is nothing left here for your future.

My daughter is gluten-free and dairy free she paid for her meal plan and was told many times don’t worry we got you covered. For the first month she could only eat fries and nothing else because they had no options and she has talked to the school so many times and they do nothing about it why should she have to pay for being ignored she has allergic reactions to the food but yet still nothing gets done. Waste of money she will not be paying them next year

I would not recommend applying to this university for graduate studies. In my experience, they have not been supportive of students and have not prioritized mental health concerns. The administrative processes are extremely slow and can be frustrating. Additionally, I have found that some of the professors are not as knowledgeable or effective as I had hoped. Despite the university's claims on their website, many of the classes are oversubscribed, with more than 100 students in attendance, and they are not as small as advertised. The university's approach towards student preferences and co-op opportunities seems to be driven by financial gain rather than students' best interests. The co-op option is not as advertised, as students are not always approved, and the job opportunities available are not clearly regulated. Moreover, the faculty advisor's personal preferences can significantly affect students' career paths, which can be detrimental.Furthermore, the tuition fees are very high, which can be a significant financial burden on students and their families.Another issue is the limited course offerings every semester, which can make it challenging to select courses.Lastly, Tbay is a small and cold city, which may not be suitable for everyone.Overall, I believe that there are better options available for graduate studies, and prospective students should carefully consider their choices before applying to this university.
