These reviews are not wrong about customer wait times. Painfully long wait times. In my case, 2 calls and a total of an hour and a half waiting on the phone because the first one that finally answered after an hour could not hear me. Swell, second call said that she could not help me after a half hour wait and gave me an option of holding for the right person, which she had no idea how long I would be on hold again, or have someone call me back within 24 hrs. Well I chose the latter and guess what didn't happen. The call back. The only reason I called was to update my policy with a new piece of equipment we purchased. A simple task, and look what I have to go through to have that added. I have since sent a message via their web portal, but come on people, really? I am very worried if I ever have to make a claim. Aviva direct was unable to assist me with the matter due to some form of privacy rights. You get what you pay for I guess.!

I waited 2 hours on the phone for my broker to say she would call me within a half hour. Guess what she didn't. On top of which I cancelled my insurance with them and did all the required paperwork and was still charged they hadn't processed in 20+days. Then when I ask for reimbursement they give me the run around while still charging me. Absolute joke.

I am very disappointed with the service with HUB smart coverage. I’ve been on hold the first time for an hour and 15 minutes and when I got to an agent, she just hung up without trying to call back. Now I’m on hold again for god knows how long and the recording says,” if you can’t wait, to go online.” I go online and it takes an agent to reply back to 1-2 business days. I’m going to take my services to a company who actually cares about customer service.

After 14 YEARS of payments I get a registered letter saying my policy is being cancelled. I call to find out why and am told after more than a decade you want an ESA certification. I'm told you attempted to reach out multiple times to the phone # and email I haven't had in years and not once did it ever cross someones mind to possibly send a letter to the address being insured? So now I'm sitting here, less than a week until Christmas, having to find and pay an electrician to come verify my wiring or my policy is cancelled which I'm sure any other company will be happy to jack up my rates over. Bravo guys. The 3 stooges would have managed this better.

I have been with smartcoverage for 12 years. Originally signed with them with my than boyfriend to get a multicar discount. Fast forward to April 2021, husband then cancels his policy. His policy renewal was due in May. He was canceling because his car was no longer drivable and went to the wreckers. He had only park insurance on it for 3 years. Fast forward to this month, Jan 2023, we are shopping for a new vehicle to support our growing family. We went car shopping for the first time on January 14th. We found vehicle. Called around to find a better rate as I discovered that Smartcoverage has been hosing me with rates over the past 2 years (2020 my insurance went up almost $20 per month!). We were then told that the comments Smartcoverage had put on my husband's account was stopping us from moving forward, with any insurance company. So we called them.1. Canceled for other" - when pressured they said there was an extra note stating he refused to renew his policy. Absolutely nothing about his car going to the wreckers.2. Another note that on Jan 1

Worst company to deal with and worst customer service!! After losing my father, I cancelled his insurance policy and paid the outstanding balance. They continued the insurance and kept trying to bill me. I then sent them the bill of sale (as requested) on the vehicle that was SOLD and thought that everything was taken care of. I just received a notice on my door requesting a money order on a bill that was ALREADY PAID. The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing with this company. Take my advice and look for insurance elsewhere. Leave me alone and let me grieve in peace!

Usually a pleasant experience! Often times a long wait to get to speak to anyone but kind of expected. I've been a customer a few years now and never get any discount on my rate. I'm almost convinced they black list your number when it's your renewal month because it's next to impossible to get through to someone when it's your renewal month.

When we sold our home I called Smart Coverage a number of times but was left on hold for very long times so I decided to email them to tell them we were moving. I got an automatic response back so I know they got my email. No one got back to me so finally I called them again to confirm and to get a quote on our new home. I had numerous conversations with their agent and after she came back with a overinflated price of $4300 for insurance on our new house I decided to call another brokerage and got insurance for $2000 less. Our Policy with Economical through Smart Coverage was up for the same day as the closing on the house so we decided to not renew with them. Since then even though we submitted a cancellation form they are still trying to make us pay for a policy with them that was never renewed. They are now threatening us with collections if we do not keep paying them.

I had 1 agent named Melody who handled my auto insurance, she was professional and efficient in every respect. I would give her 5 stars all day long . The reason for the two star review is that I bundled my home and auto and the home insurance was a separate agent. This first guy never finished the questionnaire about my condo and therefore left me with no home insurance. I tried calling him but never received a call back. As a last resort many weeks later I called Melody- my auto insurance agent . She went out of her way to advise a home insurance agent from this same HUB to please get a hold of me. SO I awaited a call for about a week and a half. I have a cell phone that shows if I missed a call, but nothing! I decided to go with CAA . Much better service and price. Oh and the HUB - AVIVA, SCOTTISH &YORK specifically have charged me for home insurance now! SERIOUSLY GUYS ?!!
