Our house was damaged when it was hit by a food delivery truck in January of 2018. We hired Steve to make the repairs and he did an amazing job. He was very easy to work with, he listened to what we wanted and worked very hard for us and definitely had our best interest in mind. He did framing repair, new window installation, drywall, painted and resided the outside of the home. We highly recommend him for any projects you need to have done.

Don't bother with this guy. Doesn't even return calls.

I am writing this review on behalf of my family, particularly my mother Mary Dyer.We hired Steve Gates (Handyman Steve) to work on our mudroom and upstairs -- both of which turned out to be nightmare experiences.Due to the character limit I have to condense it down but you can read our full experience on Facebook, Yelp and others.A 6-8 week job turned into a 6 month nightmare that culminated in Mr. Gates walking off the job unfinished, yelling at my mother and subsequently attempting to blackmail her to get our key back.The grout on the floor in our mudroom is now crumbling, the drywall he installed is uneven, wavy, peeling tape, etc. Other professionals that have been in our home since then have noted how horrible the job was. It's impossible to properly tile on the walls because of the poor installation.He lied about being able to do spray foam insulation and then attempted to charge my mother to hire someone else to do so. With the winter fast approaching we had to settle for fiber glass insulation that we did not want.Individuals he hired left the job due to lack of payment to the point that my mother even paid one individual herself to make sure he got paid. We were also told that he was using the money my mother paid him for items not related to our job which forced my mom to purchase supplies directly to be certain where the money went.He also charged us for dumpsters that we found out were never actually ordered.There's even more that I've detailed on the various websites I mentioned above but the bottom line is that we wanted to share our story so the same thing doesn't happen to anyone else. After seeing Mr. Gates lie about the situation (and apparently others) on social media we realized that despite still dealing with the fallout of this nightmare ourselves we had to alert others to the situation.
