Good service

On Friday, I went to no less than FOURTEEN different stores and plumbing suppliers between Parksville and Nanaimo in search of a replacement valve/cartridge for a 30 year old faucet. Many of these locations have the same master plumber's book to reference, and after the first 6 stops, I was also familiar with it and the response I had been receiving: Sorry, dunno what you have there. According to the competition, the part that I had in my hand for reference was a mystery. Yet the fellow at the counter (Mark) at Bartle and Gibson actually looked at this part, identified it, and located the replacement part --they even had one on hand. He furthermore looked up where I could get the handles to fit the valve, printed the page which referenced the potential parts list, and offered to order the additional parts. I know exactly where I will be taking ANY plumbing related business in the future, and driving well over an hour out of my way won't be a deterrent. If I had known to try here FIRST, it would have saved me an entire day of disappointment, fuel and time looking. Truly the highlight of my day, thank you very much. The SIX other professional plumbing suppliers that looked at the exact same book could learn quite a bit from this.
