These guys might quote more expensive than other machine shops in Calgary, the difference is with their quote they are trying to build you an engine that works and will last. One of the only great engine rebuild shops left in Calgary.

Best machine shop, I'd never go anywhere else. Reasonable prices, great service and quality. Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, I'd recommend this place 100 times over.

Boy do I wish I had stopped in here first before i wasted 9 months and thousands of dollars up the street at MDM/A-M.Just comparing the 2 shops would have never seen me beginning at MDM.It turns out that the hot rod world is pretty small. I was introduced to Rod and Rich at D&W who went out of their way in trying to find out why my motor blew up twice after MDM built it and built it again.Rich came to my house not even knowing me 3 times to help me whereas MDM refused to come to my house to help me out with the motor they built. until finally after second catastrophic failure, MDM reluctantly came to see the car and determined a diagnosis that was completely and laughably wrong.ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH.D&W built my motor from start to finish and did it within the timeline given and no 'extras' on the final bill.I can not say enough about the quality of the build, the service given and going the extra mile in helping me out.I highly recommend D&W.Thanks Rod, Rich and Tony.

After having my motor sit at extreme engines for almost 4 weeks I picked it up after I was quoted a week Then I called d&w about doing some basic work on a 6.0 Ls engine resurface and hone I was quoted a price and 1 week to complete the work I was called 1 day after I dropped it off saying it was complete I’m thrilled with my experience and customer service I had with rod at d&w thank you and many more experience’s to come

I'm 100% happy with the custom 250 cubic inch Ford inline 6 from Rod . As I am an old geezer with tons of v8 fun in the past , I changed course with my nicely restored 65 Mustang . Balanced assembly and Competition Cams kit , etc. plus a great sounding exhaust ( not 6 cylinder sounding) totally surprised me ! This project took longer than I thought but good food takes time to prepare ". Thanks Rod and assemblers for a fab job."

These guys do a great job rebuilding engines. But what I mostly use them for is machining. They are the best machine shop in Calgary. They have taken care of a lot of flywheels and heads for our shop and we greatly appreciate that there is still a machine shop in town that know what they are doing.

Called in asking about classic marine motors, gentleman on the phone said he couldn't help me with that as they are not quite what the specialize in, but he was very helpful with suggesting another company who could help me. Thanks for the info and helping me find the right people!

I share the experience of a number of other reviewers. Took parts to a different shop where I was told 2 weeks and they sat for 2 months before I went and picked them up. D&W promised 2 weeks and delivered in10 days. Awesome, honest guys. My advice is do not shop around - you will not be disappointed by seeing these guys.

In 2010 I got Rod and his guys to rebuild the 307 for my wife’s 1969 Clamato convertible. I asked for the same numbers matching engine be built better than factory. Well, this was my sisters car from new and she doesn’t know I borrowed it when I was 16 but wow! These guys put lots of life and power back into it. Better than when I stole it for a joy ride.When I finally got tired of paying major dollars for a shop to power tune my Monte Carlo 350 in my 49 chev truck, I asked Rod to build me another 350 sb. He told me he could go one step better and custom build a 383 stroker that would definatly put a smile on my face but I should do one more upgrade. A torque converter. I went with a 2400 stall in a 700r4. WOW! Job well done Rod and crew. I recommend these guys for any engine work or rebuilds. My next project “WILL” have another D&W Custom Engine in it. Richard does a fabulous job in setting things up to run perfect. KUDOS.

Great people to deal with, very knowledgeable and straightforward which makes your life a lot easier when you’re rebuilding an engine. 100% recommended and actually going back soon for my spare engine build. They’re personally into the big block stuff, but absolutely not afraid of working on turbo Subaru engines either.
