Big Sky Ranch Animal Sanctuary

I loved the whole experience! Friendly caring people! All the animals were fantastic but my favourite are the horses! I am very excited to go again! Great job to all who take care of the animals! I highly recommend going, great for the whole family! Thanks again Big Sky Ranch!!!

This is a rescue sanctuary. I love that they take in dogs, cats and farm animals. Property is well cared for, as are the animals. Clearly the proprietors love what they do. No cost to visit and walk around. There is a donation box though. Be generous. There's a lot work going on here with volunteers the cost goes directly to the needs of the animals. Visit and enjoy.

Couldn't be happier with the adoption of our dog this past summer. The process was easy, and the owner was extremely honest about the dogs so as to make sure they don't go to the wrong home. And despite being ready to pay the $500 adoption fee everyone else is asking for dogs, the fees at this rescue are not even remotely that high, so we were able to spoil our new member of the family with treats, toys, and all new things she deserves. I would highly recommend adopting your next pet from here.

Great experience volunteering for the day. Really amazed at how clean and professional the infrastructure is. Animals are definitely being looked after.

This place does incredible work! It's well worth a visit to go and see so many animals being looked after with such kindness and living in great conditions. They run via donations so go and spend an afternoon there and donate to a great cause.

What an amazing place. So many rescued animals living their best lives being loved the way they should be. Very friendly people and the animals are friendly too! I'll be going back for sure!

This is such a wonderful animal sanctuary. We were looking for a place to volunteer as a family and help care for animals. Big Sky Ranch was exactly the kind of place we were hoping to find. It has very well kept grounds and you can see the animals are very happy and well taken care of. It's very heartwarming to see all these different animals being looked after so well. We met Andy who was very friendly, answered all our questions and even let our kids see some new baby chicks. We will definitely be going back to volunteer and support this animal sanctuary!

Recently went to the Sanctuary as a part of my trip to Ottawa, and it was the most rewarding experience for me. I am vegetarian and all for animal rights, so it was so beautiful for me to see these poor unwanted animals flourish in such a welcoming environment. Animals look very happy and healthy, they have enough room in the pens and approriate foods.I really connected with horses, but all the other animals run towards you, and ask to be pet and to be loved. It was astounding to see how these previously unwanted animals still have so much trust and loyalty towards humans. I am glad these animals are able to live their lives fully, socialize with other animals and receive all the love, attention and care they need from the dedicated volunteers.I was amazed at how much has been accomplished by just volunteers from people's donations and funds. There are so many different animals and they all have a place, and a lot of room.The Sanctuary pigs, specifically, have convinced my boyfriend to stop eating meat because it is just impossible to look in the understanding eyes of an animal and then imagine what happens to them in factories.It is a beautiful natural experience that I would recommend for anyone who loves animals!
