Really impressed with the food! A wide variety of cuisine (not just standard pub fare.) Their offering for Fried Chicken Fest was amazing, and I was so impressed they had a seasonal Granville Island beer on tap! Also our server/bar tender (we sat at the bar) was friendly and knowledgeable. It gets busy, so I suggest booking in advance. Looking forward to returning!

Food was tasty! Service was very good and the building was fascinating. My only area of concern was that the salmon on the salmon bowl was very small, and didn't seem very good value. But the flavor was excellent!

My partner and I visited here. When we tried to book online we were told they were full but I emailed and they were able to squeeze us in. We got a drink, the smash burger,, fish and chips, and ube cheesecake. Everything was very good. The atmosphere was great and seeing the historical pumphouse was cool. It might be loud for some people but we enjoyed our evening and the service was excellent.

I was very surprised by this place. Inside is very nice with a museum like view of the old pumphouse station. I got the smash burger, it has to be one of the best burgers I've had in winnipeg! I just wish I added bacon to it. My partner got the fish and chips and loved it. For dessert we got the ube cheesecake. My partner liked it, but I wasn't the biggest fan of it. The prices are about what you would expect, however the drinks I feel where very expensive. Over 11$ for any cocktail and they came in a small glass. Also parking is quite a pain in this area, but that is normal with downtown. Overall I would recommend checking this place out. Make a reservation tho as we saw a few people walk in then walk out as it was quite busy.

Another very cool place to visit. The atmosphere is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Super cool and just adds to the vibe of the whole neighbourhood. From the outside of the building to the walk inside and to your seat, you feel like you are in a different world. The service and the food also met the challenge of the unique atmosphere. Our server was knowledgeable and very in tune with the restaurant and the menu…and everyone who helped us was friendly and cheerful. I want to come back just to try some more dishes…everything looked and sounded great. We loved our food and the portion size was perfect. I’ll be back!

James Avenue Pumping Station is such a cool place to visit with great food options. The place is located in an old pumphouse from 1906 which you can still see and gives an awesome view and vibe while you enjoy your food. It's really amazing that a place like this one can be enjoyed and appreciated inside of a restaurant.Regarding the food, I think there is something for everyone. In addition to their geneal menu, they have a plant based menu and a gluten free menu if needed, which I know is appreciated by many. We tried the beef and vegetables soup which came with soft garlic bread. Also, we tried the primavera pasta which is a generous portion of healthy pasta with lots of vegetables, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, feta cheese, among others, and the Chili coconut mussels which were aboslutely delicious and come with a side of fries. For desert we tried the deep + delicious, a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting that should not be missed!Service was really nice and gave us good beer recommendations! Totally recommend this restaurant!

A very open space that looks very cool and feels a bit cozy. The food was fantastic. Servers were very nice! I’d definitely recommend it! Could have used better company. Now I know for next time.

Decent food, but poor service.First of all, the hostess didn’t allow us to sit at the big table (which was empty), because 6 of us was not enough for that table, which had 8 sits, so they put all of us at the small 10 square feet table. Then it took them a while to even come over and take an order. Furthermore, it took them 15 minutes to bring the napkins after we asked for them. The cutlery we have got only 5 minutes after they have severed food.So everything was slow and it felt like staff don’t much care about guests. The food was okay, but atmosphere was not quite welcoming.

Good restaurant. The menu was an interesting combination of dishes. It felt somewhere between pub fare and a more upscale restaurant. Food was all done quite nicely, but most dishes were relatively common (as opposed to unique combinations or ingredients I hadn't heard of). We had the mango pesto cauliflower as a starter. They were awesome. Definitely the highlight. Then the salmon bowl and the Thai dish. Both were very solid. The salmon was cooked perfectly.Service was very good. The atmosphere is pretty cool with the massive pump equipment on display through glass panes. The seating area was a little plain and more open than I expected.

First time trying this restaurant. I ordered the Tropic like it's hot" cocktail which tasted great. For dinner I had Chili Coconut Mussels which was very filling. The flavoring was on point in every way and had a nice touch of adding naan bread to soak up the sauce afterwards too. I was skeptical if this was the type of restaurant you go to experience once for the view
