Took a weaving class back in 2018 and it was amazing! It was a gift for my mother-in-law who is impossible to shop for- this workshop was absolutely perfect! Worth every penny! If I can add more stars I would :)

I took an intro to weaving class with Fern. It was such a great experience! Fern is an excellent teacher, able to explain the theory in a clear and simple way for beginners like myself. I went by myself, but the other ladies in the class were super welcoming! Bonus: her studio has beautiful views of the city! If you want to give your creative side a chance to shine, I highly recommend a class at Fern’s!

I did Fern’s original rug hooking class back in 2017 before the punch hook classes and it was awesome. I e bought gift certificates and recommended her workshops to anyone and everyone. The environment is so welcoming, intimate, and beautiful, and Fern is a wonderful, attentive teacher. Her passion for fibre arts (all arts really) is perfectly matched by her abundant knowledge, careful research, and detailed instruction. Fern doesn’t just show you how, she teaches you the history and background of each craft, and she builds a beautiful community around her craft and school. Knowing her impeccable tastes and her high quality instruction, I trust that Fern’s other instructors parallel her quality of instruction and admirable expertise. Taking that one workshop, I have since made many beautiful and original rug hooking projects and I am now exploring hand weaving and ready to dive into punch hooking. I’m eager to take her weaving class as well as the embroidery class and I’m so grateful for her school introducing my creative mind to fibre arts. Sign up for a workshop, I promise you won’t regret it and it’ll probably become an addictive hobby and a valuable form of creative expression.

I took Fern’s punch needle class and weave a cushion class. Fern is an amazing instructor - she’s knowledgeable, talented, and patient with complete newbies like me! Both classes were held in her beautiful workshop space. Both were great classes and I had so much fun learning about different fibre arts! I can’t recommend Fern’s School of Craft enough. I can’t wait to take more classes!

I have taken a few classes at Fern's School of Craft and enjoyed them all. I took Punch Needle Rug Hooking, Knitting, Floral Bundle Dying, and also made three cushions on her open studio evenings. The classes are small and the space is relaxing and peaceful. Fern is always very helpful in sharing her expertise and the supplies for the classes are of high quality. I would highly recommend taking classes here!

I love Fern's School of Craft! I have taken three classes (punch needle rug hooking, intro to embroidery, and weaving a cushion cover) and done one drop-in weaving session (made another cushion cover!) Every class has been amazing. The class size is small (especially the most recent weaving drop-in during pandemic times) and the teaching is exceptional. Supplies are provided (including extras if you need to take stuff home to finish your project), and you can always purchase additional supplies from Fern later if you need more. The cost of each class is extremely reasonable. The atmosphere of the workspace is chill and the views over the city are great! I know Fern teaches a lot of classes and meets many students, but each time I go I feel remembered and welcome. I will continue to take classes here as long as Fern offers them!

I have participated in two of Fern's workshops. I have done the Weaving class and also the Punch Needle class. Jessica is very informative and gives lots of detailed instruction. She has a warm, encouraging teaching style. Participants will leave class with a finished beautiful project and a sense of accomplishment! It's a beautiful day spent creating, and there is a nice treat at the end of class!

I highly recommend taking a class/workshop at Fern School of Craft! I've taken 3 workshops - an embroidery class taught by Alex of Florals & Floss Embroidery, a weaving class and punch needle class with Fern. Both Alex and Fern were wonderful instructors. I'm not very crafty at all but soon realized that the beginner workshops are a great way to really learn how to embroider and weave. I also love Fern's beautiful studio space located near the Brewery District. I was thrilled to have made a beautiful embroidery piece, weaved a pillow cushion and create a punch needle picture. I can't wait to take another class!
