Langley Memorial Hospital: Emergency Department
My Mum had to wait 6 hours because the nurse running triage didn't prioritise her. We would have been better off driving to Walgreens in Bellingham to get an OTC med not available here.

I just got a Appendectomy surgery where ny appendix is removed. After surgery which only took 50- min-1 hour, and after recovery, which was quick, i felt so much better. The nurses were caring as well, and overall it was a great hospital.

Last Tues morning, 2:30, I took my adult son to emerg. Within 12 hrs, he was in surgery, having his appendix removed. This was our 1st trip to this hospital, as we moved from Bby to Cloverdale almost 2 yrs ago. We were treated well, and diagnosis was quick. Staff treated us well and want to say thank you for their quick action.

What happen to BC health care? I feel bad for everyone that we need to wait 9-10 hrs seriously? It’s not Medical personnel’s fault but I’ll say there’s no enough doctors to check those in need…HR please hire more doctors!

Well, I broke my toe at 11:35PM. I went to the Langley Emergency and received excellent care. I hobbled have n and they took care of me right away. The clerk and the nurse in the front were friendly and helpful. This was Wednesday May 4, 2022. I was given clear directions and followed them. X-rays happened with very little wait. Two people were in front of me more serious issues than I. Once admitted to the emergency area #2, I waited to be called. There were definitely more serious things happening. I was attended to fairy quickly. The doctor showed me my toe was broken on the X-ray and ensured I had the right equipment to go home with. I now have an air cast and am going to see a specialist at the cast clinic. So we shall see what happens next. Overall, I was in and out in just over an hour. Many people were seen and diagnosed and given support while I was there. I am grateful for such a well run emergency.

They have spent a lot of money on the renovations and why couldnt they have money to get more doctors. I sat in emergency for four hours, struggling to breathe because of my tonsils so swollen. I ended up leaving after the nurse told me it would be another 6 to 7 hours because they only have one doctor on. I literally looked at her and said I’m struggling to breathe without a mask on, I cannot sit here for another seven hours with a mask on Well, I’m already having a hard time breathing. I asked if I could wait in my car and get a phone call they said no. So I left struggling to breathe. They are not willing to accommodate you. When I left four other people left as well. I regret not going to Maple Ridge like I normally do.

This is got to be the worst hospital I’ve ever been to.The Nurse’s are so rude, lack everything a proper nurse possesses.I find most of the staff under qualified. They don’t know how to triage properly.Maybe they need to change careers.Sorry to those nurses that may actually care. It’s disgusting to watch them behave so badly, I’m in the health care profession, and it’s hard to watch it.I’ve talk to so many people in the health care field and others saying stay away from that hospital!!I think this hospital needs a shake up with the staff, and btw get off your cells when your working, people do notice do things like that. Do that on your own time! This review is based on several visits to the ER!!!

Not enough people give these healthcare workers enough credit. I went into Langley Memorial because I was having chest pain for days. And it was kind of worrying me. I'm at the age where I need to be mindful. I went into the hospital early in the morning to get checked out. And they almost immediately saw me. I almost never go to hospitals so I am scared to go. It took a lot of convincing on my girlfriend's part to get me to go. But the experience was good. My doctor was great. And any of the staff that helped me were absolutely awesome and friendly. Other than blood pressure being high. Most likely from my smoking. My health is very good. Thank you for the staff for all that you do! Not enough people say it.

First time there since they finished the new section.Parking $5/h :(Waiting.....I had it good with 4 hours I hear (at 4 am) !The problem is that you can't tell any more until you are checked in and get into a waiting area. The hand written sign said 4h. It was. I wasn't in pain, it is just very uncomfortable. The large grey chair, that is the next waiting location :) is hard, the lower part is big, so your back doesn't reach the back of the chair. There is a foot hold the doctor pulled out, but I didn't know.Spent 2 hours going...any time now...It would be better if they had a number system like at the drivers license office. I can be uncomfortable for 0.5-1 hour.Otherwise lots of space, many nurses. 1 doctor. :( 4 am !Also the fan in that examination room sounds like a tornado! This is a new building, can't we do better?! Doesn't help with anxiety.
