I do really like this little family run shop and adjacent cafe, but today I am giving 3 stars because they consistently do not have the ham & cheese buns (which are delish). They also consistently microwave my veggie/sausage roll, which everyone knows changes the consistency of breads and pastry and makes them doughy and soft/chewy, not good for a product that's supposed to be flaky or crispy, ex. fillo pastry. Their excuse today was that their oven was broken. Highly disappointing considering I'd like to go here daily but not getting what I like so I don't. Very nice local shop and staff supporting local artisans and other local producers.

It's a convenient place to stop for a cup of coffee or an ice cream close to the Rail trail.Unfortunately, they have a very elaborate check-out system in the cafe. Irrespective of what you purchase, you need to stand in 3 lines.First, a line where your order is entered into a computer system. Then you are asked to proceed to the front of the store and provide your name to the cashier. Cashier finds you order, you pay and obtain a pay ticket. Finally you go back and stand in the third line called order pickup. So it takes awhile to simply get a cup of coffee.I am sure that the person who came up with this idea was trying to be really efficient. Unfortunately it spoils the whole experience unless you really enjoy spending time in lines.

This was my 91st eatery in Vernon and Coldstream in the past two years. It is only the second time I have ever visited the Rail Trail Cafe in 24 years.I recall ice cream being sold here during my previous visit. They have convenience store snacks, sodas, coffees, pastries, sandwiches, souvenirs, and plenty of seating indoors as well as outdoors.I got one scoop of chocolate chunk espresso ice cream in a waffle cone for 4.75 before tax. The scoop was much bigger than expected. It's definitely sufficient.I began eating outside at 5:15. They close at 5:30. All of the umbrellas, chairs, and tables were put away except for two tables and three chairs. They let me eat in peace when 5:30 hit. This place is perfectly situated between Kal Beach and the Rail Trail. The only downside is it was quite busy all the way until 5:30. They could easily extend their hours until 6:30 during summer. The staff was super friendly.91 eateries down. 60ish to go on my quest.

A great launching and returning spot to hang out and grab a beverage or snack after walking or riding the rail trail. The drip coffee was warm and comforting on this fall day. The cookie was a little dry but still very tasty. Staff was very friendly and informative. Also have a selection of locally brewed kombucha available for sale....would love to see the rail trail cafe at the peak of summer.

I’ve always had a great experience at this place. I have at least 3-4 meetings here every week or couple of weeks. I’m not sure I’ll be back after today. I arrived 5 minutes early for my meeting so I sat down to set up at a table. Within 1 min of arriving I was asked to buy something or leave. I can’t just sit here without making a purchase. I explained why I was there and would be buying beverages in 5 min once my meeting folks had arrived. Apparently this was not a good enough reason to stay seated. They did not like that reason. I got angry after being told my reason wasn’t good enough. I didn’t react well. I apologized for that. Rail trail please change your policy to not humiliate customers if they are waiting for someone.

This is an excellent place to stop at before or after a walk or bike ride on the Okanagan Rail Trail. Good coffee drinks, tasty pastries, and a selection of sandwiches and soup. Nice outdoor patio.

It’s a cafe/deli and corner store.Fun place to have a snack and a beverage. They have lots of fun trinkets to buy and a variety of foods to enjoy. From banana bread to carrot cake, samosas to breakfast buddies, ice cream to jerky! There are also beach toys and camping accessories that you might have forgotten. Some coolers of basics for family meals too, like bacon, milk and cheese.
