Guv'nor Inn & Pub
We stayed at the Guv’nor Inn & Pub as the price was good and other hotels were all booked up. I stayed there before with my parents as a child and enjoyed it so figured this was a decent place to stay. Well fair to say the hotel hasn’t been updated in 20-30 years! The hotel room smelled of stale air despite the AC being on. The rooms were small with a sticky spot on our carpet. The bathroom was clean but small. There was no housekeeping available during our stay; asking for towels daily. The service at the front desk was very kind and welcoming and the location is central which is perfect for getting around the city. We didn’t try the pub food but I’ve heard good things about it. Overall it’s ok for a cheap 1-night stay but I definitely wouldn’t stay any longer if I had other options.

Only visited the Pub for a meal. Had the liver onion and they were cooked to perfection. Good choices of other good looking meals

Since moving to St. John's over a year ago, the Covid-19 restrictions have hindered our searching out local cuisine treasures. Today we discovered the Guv'Nor pub, an English pub setting, well kept up and excellent decorations made for an excellent location to experience a great breakfast. We tried their skillet and an order of bologna with eggs, this has become one of the top 4 places on our list of places to eat in St.John's. A new employee, Taylor provided us with excellent, friendly service which sealed the deal for us. Will be back to check their evening menu and enjoy a pint or 2. 2023 update - post covid, we've been back numerous times and continue to enjoy our meals. Today was supper with Yorkshire pudding, bangers and mash served by Jeremy along with stout from a local Brewery. Blueberry cake in a rum sauce for desert was fantastic.

For 23 years, this has been my FAVORITE Saturday morning brunch. I haven't stayed in the rooms, but the restaurant has an awesome, cozy feel. And the staff are great. If you order the toutons GET THEM DEEP FRIED!! ♡

Guv'nor's Pub is always a great little quiet place to eat. Food is always excellent. They even usually have moose burgers and sausages on the menu!

Had the soup of the day, Moose Vegetable Soup, with a prime rib sandwich. Definitely didn't disappoint. The soup was loaded with moose meat and the prime rib was delicious.

Eat here. The food is incredible and it has an old English pub feel too it. Have the Moose Burger or OMJ wings. As a wing lover this sauce is one of my favorites of all time.
