Deerview Lodge & Cabins

I travel over 300 days a year for work and when I’m commuting to and from wherever I need to be I always try to stay in motels where I can drive up to the door. My expectations aren’t usually high and I’m very low-maintenance. This afternoon I checked intoThe Deerview Lodge and was pleasantly surprised. Spotlessly clean and (I’m assuming) recently renovated. Beautiful room!I’ll be back for sure. The family who own the motel are super friendly and obviously love their place, and it shows.

Do not stay here unless you absolutely MUST! Units, or at least the one I stayed in, smell musty like after years of being smoked in, have little to no heat, doors do not seal, dead bolt does not work, and it takes 20 minutes to get hot water. I have to run the sink water long enough to get enough hot water to have a shower. And in the shower, TINY, and scared of skipping on the sloped floor!I thought I picked a value place to stay based on ratings I found online. They are wrong! I hope this review helps someone else.Again, don't stay here. Not nearly worth the $750 weekly rate. Spend the extra little bit and go somewhere else.The one star i gave reflects the management's genuine offers to help in any way, however my schedule didnt lend well to this offer.

We had an impromptu drive into the interior and realized we didn't wanna drive the steep winding roads back home at night with all the fallen rocks we saw. Good call too, as our car started to act up too! Called Raymond, and he was easily able to accommodate us even though our credit card had just expired. It's a humble place, with at-home features including full kitchenettes, gas stove, residential fridge, pots and pans for cooking, and clean bathrooms with AMAZING water pressure. No, it's not the Ritz-Carlton, it's a honest humble small business with a guest first approach! I definitely recommend Deerview to anyone, and we will for sure be staying again! Thank you, Raymond, for giving us a warm welcome and stay for our first time in your little mountain town! Give the deer a treat for us!

Cannot review the facilities as I did not stay there... let me clarify, there was a mix up with reservations and there were no rooms.However, I am giving five stars for customer service.The Owners called everyone and found me the last available room in Princeton.It is so easy to rant and rave when things go wrong, but kudos for extra effort today.Will definitely try and stay there in future.Thank you !

Clean, older motel. We called at 1 am and faiz(?) Stayed up until we arrived from a long day of travelling at 230. Was very hospitable, friendly and even helped carry all of our luggage in.Would definitely stay again, probably not on a honeymoon

I would never recommend this place to anyone. It took 7 hour before the AC kicked in. Floor lamp didn't work. The tv didn't work. The whole place is from the 50's and has not been updated since. The mattress was not a mattres..it was a box spring!! The door didn't lock from the inside, had to put a chair to to prevent intruders from entering the unit. No phone in unit to call front desk to complain......place needs to be torn down.We should have read the reviews...most where bad.

Faizal went out of his way to help out me and my family to get set up for a night when we were stranded on the highway, he a true good Samaritan. The whole staff there is amazing and genuinely good people who represent the town of Princeton perfectly. I can never thank them enough for all they did for us when they didn't have to. I will be staying there for all my future trips. Thank you guys!!

I very much enjoyed my stay here! Fast service, eager to help, friendly smiles. Place was clean with a full kitchen, decently stocked with cook wear. Felt cozy

The building is getting old, so don't expect anything fancy, but the owners are working with what they have to keep the guests happy. The room was a good size, and the owner was very accommodating when my family was stranded there by mudslides. He made sure we all had beds to sleep in for a very reasonable price.
