The US Consulate General Halifax is located at 9th floor unit 904, inside tower 2. I went there to attend my US visa interview appointment. If you have an appointment at 10:00 am then do go there for more than 15 minutes, because they will ask you to wait at the ground floor to avoid the crowd in front of the consulate. They have small lockers for your cellphones or i-watch airpods. But they don't allow bags or large items. Even the lockers are made like to fit in your smartphone only.So if you are going for your appointment I would suggest leaving your stuff inside your car or taking someone with you. So he/she can wait downstairs with your belongings.I just had a phone and transparent folder to carry my documents. They allow keys, credit cards, and cash to keep with you.I hope this information helps you in your visit.Thank You

they make you wait in line for hours outside the door, with no phones or backpacks allowed, nothing but blank walls around, guaranteeing the worst boredom you could ever experience in the modern age. why the wait? what is the point of scheduling an appointment? they have no motivation whatsoever to make the experience any better for their clients. people come to do what they have to do, and no one has any choice in the matter. it is time we demand some rights

A small embassy when compared to other locations but a well organised and well maintained one. Also the location is awesome. Plan to spend sometime before or after visa interview. You will have ferries flying around and a beautiful view. Embassy is located on 9th floor. Get down the lift and take right to meet security. There is a public parking opposite to the embassy building. Overall a nice experience.

My husband and I came here to get our boys' passports renewed. (If you are coming from Bedford, I would allot extra time due to the construction around the Lower Water Street.)The office is in the second tower and on the 9th floor. It was easy to locate. When we got there, we were provided a locker to place our keys and phone. We had to leave our smart watch and work badge with security. After the security check (for both ourselves and the documents), we were asked to sit in the waiting area. Within 5 or so minutes, we were called up to start the application process. The clerks present were kind and patient with us, while I took out all the documents requested. Once they checked everything off the list, I paid the application fees via credit card, and we were asked to sit down to wait while they reviewed everything. About 10 minutes later, we finalized the application and were outta there. We were in and out of there in 30 minutes, which I very much appreciated, so we could get the boys back to school without missing too much.

Very friendly and fast. Make sure to arrive on time or at least 15-20 min before your appointment. You can also bring your phone and the officer will give you a key so you can store it before you enter for your interview. In the meantime, if you arrive a little early like I did, you can enjoy the view from the outside or take the tunnel and stay in the lobby in the other tower.

We arrived with our walkers, and that created an issue until they figured out that the walkers could come inside the outer door and not need to go through the walk-through scanner but could stay just inside the door. I was first and my wife had to sit on her walker for about an hour until they permitted her in. They were polite and relatively efficient as we had appointments and completed our business and paid our fees with our US$ credit card. The only negative is the need to wait outside the office in the hallway on the floor the Consulate shares with other offices, where they do NOT have any seating. Our walkers provided us with seating, fortunately, since neither of us could stand outside the door for the length of time that was required for my wife.

Very efficient and friendly place to do my F1 visa interview. It took me less than 1 hour to have the whole interview process done (the actual interview is around 3 minutes. Waiting in the line takes a bit of time, but it is not too long). They mailed my passport to Montreal the very next day and I received the passport a day right after. Unbelievable!

My wife and I went here with our 2 year old for his CRBA and US Passport. We had an excellent experience -- the staff were very knowledgable, friendly, and welcoming. It was simple to go through all our paperwork and the meeting was straightforward. I even messed up and forgot to bring our proof of marriage, but the consulate worked with me so I could stop by later in the same day and bring our copy. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience -- just great all around.

If there was a 0 star, I would have given it. Terrible costumer service! called via the phone and explained my situation to need a transit visa soon so i need to get an interview in Halifax, the agent told me to created an account and pay the fees, he didn't tell me there are NO available appointments in halifax! He cost me 220CAD since I canceled my trip through USA! Terrible superior ways of talking to clients too.
