Royal City Soccer Club

Overall, a wonderful camp experience! My children and nephew (ages 9-10) attended camp this summer at two different Royal City Soccer Club locations for a total of 4 weeks and had a BLAST! The on-site staff were engaging, professional and attentive to all of the campers needs. The kids had such a great time playing soccer and swimming that they asked to skip other camps and go back to this one! Can’t wait to send the kids again next year!

Most unorganized camp we’ve ever been to. Arrived Monday and it was raining, but said online if weather was bad they had indoor facilities. There were no facilities available because they didn’t secure permits so we missed the first day. They were supposed to go swimming each day, but again they hadn’t secured permits so they only swam one day in the week. We got one response from the camp about Monday apologizing, but our further emails expressing our disappointment were never returned. Terrible communication between counsellor and organizers, we will not be returning to this camp.

My son attended the location in London , he had an amazing time every week ! The staff were friendly and professional, my son adored them. He was so active this summer, he learned a lot about soccer and improved his swimming. We will definitely put him in it next summer if he wishes !

This is a day care camp not a soccer camp. We signed up 3 weeks. At first we were lucky to get leaders who enjoyed soccer and playing with kids. The last camp was play tag games and get through the day run by 2 leaders who didn’t know how to play soccer. My kid refused to go because he didn’t get to play soccer. I made calls and left VM with they head office back and forth for 3 days before they agreed to let us go to another location where the camp leaders actually know how to play soccer. I signed up for a full week camp, half of it was wasted. Their head office tells me they are a recreational camp, not a soccer camp. Their leaders don’t have to know soccer and they are not required to lead the kids to play soccer.So why name yourself soccer camp. This was a waste of time and money.The worse part of this was they were not willing to deal with the complaints in a timely manner and offers no solutions and no care. Parents plan summer camps ahead of time. If your don’t live up to what’s promised, you should at least offer some solutions instead of telling parents that it’s too bad your kids don’t like it.

“The camp instructors were SO great. They greeted us every morning at our vehicle and we’re so excited to see the kids. They were super informative and engaged with the kids. I wish I could have told them directly that they really made the camp so much fun for the kids. Are they involved in anything in the fall as we would really love to see them again.”

I strongly suggest looking for other options for soccer camp-this was such a disappointing experience! I should have trusted my gut after reading so many negative reviews but I went against my better judgment and decided to try them out. They pride themselves on their “great camper to staff ratio” but this could not be further from the truth. We felt awful for the two young staff members that were completely overworked and did not receive any supplies (cones, shade tents, pinnies for games etc) We phoned to voice our concerns to Royal Soccer Club and were rudely told that they don’t have to adhere to any regulations, they can have 1 staff member for 30 kids and that’s fine. Their staff also do not have to have first aid. Management was rude and completely unwilling to listen to any feedback. The cost of this camp is far and above others, and for what you get it seems like a scam. Do your research, read reviews and look at what the staff say about working for this company. They take your money and run without a care at all how satisfied you are. We will never be booking this camp again. The only reason I’m giving two stars is for the wonderful staff member that was doing her best despite a complete lack of resource and structure

My kids loved the camp leaders. They enjoyed the funny nicknames and playing world cup, revenge tag, shin tag, last man standing, and handball. My son told me that Natalie bought him a snack on a day he didn't bring money, which I thought went above and beyond" for a camp leader. Additionally

My 10 year-old son has has chosen to do four weeks of half days at the Nelson location in Burlington because he enjoys the experience so much. It really works with our schedule during the day and allows us to have an afternoon to spend time together. The price is awesome and the staff is wonderful. This was his 3rd summer at this camp.

My daughter had so much fun. She came home so happy every day, and didn't want to leave. The councillors were all so kind and great with the kids. We will definitely be coming back again next year
