M.J. Johnson Voice Studio

Meeting M.J. at a weekend workshop when my daughter was only 10 years old, was the luckiest thing that could have happened to us. While M.J. already had a ton of experience and training; she was just starting out with her private voice studio. We feel honoured and fortunate to have been one of her earliest and longest running students.For the past seven years, M.J. has lovingly and carefully guided my daughter to be a wonderfully confident and safe singer. My daughter gets as many compliments on her technique as she does her voice, and I’m grateful for all she has been taught.My daughter has since graduated high school, and was accepted to her first choice post-secondary program in Musical Theatre. I can’t wait to watch her soar! Thank you M.J. for preparing her for the world!

I cannot recommend M.J. enough. Whether you are looking to take regular lessons or just want to pop into one of her masterclasses, working with her is amazing. I have been taking singing lessons since I since I was 9 years old, but my lessons with M.J over the last 2 years have improved my singing drastically. She has pushed my voice to be able to do things I never thought possible. Regarding her masterclasses, M.J. has such a gift for creating an environment where it feels safe to take risks and have fun. Feeling comfortable making mistakes and trying things on" has never been a strength of mine

Having lessons with MJ the past few years has had an extremely valuable impact on my voice and knowledge/preparedness as a singer. She is patient, yet passionate at what she does & is always encouraging her students to step out of their comfort zones & believe in themselves.
