Popped in to get a few veggie plants. They have a good selection and it wasn't overly busy

I really love visiting Islington Nurseries. The store is on the smaller side but is absolutely packed with everything you need for plants, including the plants themselves! The staff are really knowledgeable and friendly, and their selection is fantastic. I've gotten many plants here and they are all thriving! In the summer they have an outdoor section as well that has a beautiful selection of perennials and annuals. A great stop for any plant lover.

Had really unpleasant experience today just because wanted to exchange some bulbs that are zoned 7-10. The package had no mention of zone on it. I haven’t opened it and it was in perfect resale condition. All i wanted was to exchange to other bulbs that are more suitable for this climate. Also their receipt doesn’t even mention that everything is final sale! Needless to say never shopping there again.

This was my first time buying a real Christmas Tree, when arriving @ islington nurseries, I was confused not know anything about Christmas Tress Christmas staffers took time to explain the differences with tree . Thank you for all the help had education. And to the gentleman that was bagging and tying down trees to cars and so on. Did a amazing job. I will never buy a fake Christmas ever again.

I've shopped here twice now & both times I was helped by staff that knew so much more than basic internet searches could tell me.Sarah & another I can't remembered the name (he watches Anime if that helps identify him)Both were very friendly & kind as I was shopping for flowers to fill my mom's gravestone garden.Thank you both for your knowledge & energy. Much appreciated.

i recently purchased a poinsettia plant for $50.00. i asked for instructions for the care of it & assumed it would be easy to care for. the leaves all fell off in 2 weeks & when i threw it out it was full of worms. when i asked for a replacement i was told no. i would never shop here again. i am very good at caring for plants & feel that's the least they could do. i was told i either over or underwatered my plant. i explained i followed their instructions but they didn't care. it was a very expensive plant to have for 2 weeks. wouldn't it be good business to give me another plant? now they have lost a customer who would have shopped there again. sarah mclean

I have been shopping at Islington Nurseries since 1998, when they were still located at their original store, also on Islington Avenue but further north. This store is a family owned business and has been around for more than 50 years.I have included a few photos from the previous store, taken in 2005.I also have added some from the store as it is today,The present location has an extensive indoor store, featuring a large selection of indoor and tropical plants, a florist and a wide choice of ornaments for the home and garden.The garden centre part of the store is really extensive. They have a large perennial selection, also shrubs, evergreens and trees.Depending on the season, they have an extensive selection of spring, summer and fall pre-planted pots.At their other store on Evans Avenue, they have a decent selection of aggregates and rocks.Their prices are reasonable and the quality of their plants and other merchandise is good.The people that work in the various sections of the place are generally helpful and pleasant.

Not a good experience. Prices in store are extremely higher than online. Staff wasn't very friendly or helpful. Some of the plants indoor plants were in very bad condition

Amanda who assisted me with wrapping a plant was amazing.I felt a warm family vibe amongst the employees.Great experience!
