We had dinner at The Barrhead tonight, and were hosted by the new owners. We sat outside and the staff was so lovely for accommodating us on such a busy night for them. The service was friendly and warm. We had a schnitzel dinner and an order of the fish and chip special. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious! Highly recommend it and we'll definitely be back again.

So quaint, delicious food & creative cocktails. We bought the cutest homemade napkins rings made in house by Jen. Thanks for a delightful evening on your patio.

Was there during a very busy rush at opening. The staff we very accommodating, friendly, and polite. The food was amazing! We sat outside on the patio listening to the water falls. A really enjoyable experience and we will definitely be back.

We had a great lunch today even with the power outage lol great to speak with the owner and waitress. Had the daily special of clam chowder soup and a turkey dinner poutine!! Really great food. My wife had the chickpea fritters and she really liked that too. Looking forward to going again as soon as we come back up!

Nice relaxed atmosphere, a really lovely attentive server, but a painfully slow kitchen. Don't come if you are in a hurry. The hummous is really nice, the pasta was on the dry side but still reasonably tasty. Good reviews by others at the table on the salad and veggie burger. The outside setting is really very nice and there are outdoor heaters available if it gets chilly.Update: - I did go back, this time the kitchen was super speedy, the wait-staff continued to be great, had a lovely wine and wonderful chick pea fritter (aka falafel) salad bowl. The setting was really great (I ate outside this time). I was really delighted that the kitchen staffing was sorted. I will definitely be back !! Changing my rating!

Don’t bother calling and trying to place an order. Put me on hold for 15 minutes after calling a couple times over an hour and then Jennifer told me she couldn’t take my take out order because a group literally just walked in. So what about the hour prior? Anyways my 93 year old grandmas birthday is today and she wanted fish and chips for lunch. I guess deep frying French fries and fish is a big task for this place. I for sure will not be eating from here again.

What a charming and inviting space! Cute items to purchase on display scattered throughout the dining room, with only a few tables for dining inside but enough to make it feel cozy. I had the most delicious falafel dish. Very friendly staff and a wonderful place to stop by and have a bite.

Very sad to say tonight was my very first night going to this restaurant and not realizing it is closing tomorrow for good :(. The atmosphere was great. The staff were incredible and so was the food. I especially loved their fries! Sad I have discovered it so late considering I live in the area but wishing everyone the best in the next chapter. I had an amazing experience there tonight! :) Thank you guys.

We went there to dine out for my Birthday. The fish & chips weren't bad, but there seemed to be way too many small overcooked pieces of fries that came with the order. There also wasn't really much of a menu selection. My parents use to visit the Barrhead many times during their lifetime. It was always a special place for me for the memories. This was my first visit back since it has been done over. I was a little disappointed, it wasn't what I expected.

A fantastic find just outside of Markville, Ontario. Sat outside and enjoyed a club sandwich. Sounds of the waterfall on the property made for a relaxing lunch break.
