Schreiber Discovery Centre & Railway Museum
Both gentlemen working were very knowledge about the items on display and the history of Schreiber. And they are great with kids!!! They even recommended a local lunch stop and gave directions to the local beach. The museum IS train cars AND has a Lionel model train running inside. That's right, a train within a train! Thank you again guys for such a nice visit and all the info!

Schreiber Discovery Centre & Railway Museum
A very unique museum with a lot of antique items that bring back memories from the past (I saw a sewing machine form my grandma's generation). It has an electric model train running, and you can be the conductor to ring the bell and blow the whistle. Every item displayed has a story form its time. P.S. It has a beautiful wash-room.

Schreiber Discovery Centre & Railway Museum
Amazing experience! The whole facility is impressive, from the 1955 Diesel Locomotive out front to the displays in the reception/foyer to the museum and movie cars (which are repurposed antique rail cars). The movie is incredible, with breathtaking drone footage, as well as a comprehensive history of the area and presentation local of treasures. There is no charge to visit the Discovery Centre, but as they operate on donations only, any contribution is greatly appreciated. It is also a Lake Superior Circle Route destination. A must see for anyone travelling the Trans-Canada Highway on Lake Superior's North Shore!

Schreiber Discovery Centre & Railway Museum
The Schreiber Discovery Centre & Railway Museum is an excellent stop to stretch your legs on a long road trip. The entry is free and there is a decent amount of stuff to do while also not taking a whole afternoon. There are cool vintage tools that used to be used on trains. There are also placques with the history of the Canadian Pacific Railway and some other points in train history. The only problem I found was that the video in the virtual car is very laggy and flashed black sometimes.

Schreiber Discovery Centre & Railway Museum
Recently reopened and brand spanking new!Nice little museum and information center focusing on railways and the history of the town and area.They have an informative 15min movie as well as a train car filled with tons of items and memorabilia and photos and all sorts of very cool original items. Check out the menus from the cross Canada passenger trains.The center also has washrooms and a water bottle fill station.Free to visit.

Enjoyed a quick stop at the museum. It's about 50/50 about the town of Schreiber and a tribute to CP and the history the town has with it. Great to break the trip up from Thunder Bay to Sault Ste Marie.

Had a wonderful time here, learned a lot about CP and the most challenging 200 miles of the trans Canada railway. It is very well done!
