Wally's Beach
Beautiful beach, bring mosquito spray and sunscreen. Has a dock for motorized watercraft and easy access to the day use beach and camping facilities.

Beautiful spot...but after travelling for some time to get there we were swarmed and driven away but huge swarms of starving mosquitoes - on a very hot day in August. Wondered why such a picturesque sandy beach with an outstanding view of the mountains was almost completely empty of people.I wouldn't visit this summer...go in the fall after a few frost days. Unless you like running and screaming.

Out of the way beach with LOTS of sand. Intesting to see dry lake bed.

Great place to hang out at the beach and wade/swim/boat. Take snacks, sunscreen and bug spray with you as there is nothing nearby.

Our memories of this cool water and MOUNTAIN VIEW will linger on, long after our footprints in the FINE SANDY BEACH are gone. We'll definitely be coming back for more family fun and relaxation during the summer months!Wally's Beach is an almost perfect" hidden jem!Recommend to bring along sunscreen as well as bug spray if needed. Also

This weekend, we visited Wally’s Beach - day use area, for the first time. The area we stopped at was quaint but crowded. The sand was soft but the water was pretty murky, and the mosquitoes were intolerable. Being a born and raised Alberta gal, I have never in my life seen mosquitoes like that. Even fully sprayed down with bug spray, they were relentless and we ended up leaving a lot earlier than planned because they were THAT bad.

So many mosquitos today. So bad. I can't even explain how bad.. We left within an hour and we were not the first. The parking lot was empty and 5 groups left in that time! Water was nice, location was clean. Too many bugs.

Nice sandy beach. Don't go in June when the water is high. July is perfect but bring mosquito spray. They just upgraded the campground and added a lot more camp sites. No reservation needed but call ahead to see if they have space. The St. Mary's campground close by is also very nice. It's right by a river and has a playground.

The beach was really nice. Big beach with soft fine sand. Outhouses were not bad but the hand sanitizer/soap was empty. There were almost no signs to help find it and the roads got worse closer to the park. Some of the worst washboard roads I have been on in a long while.
