These are beautyfull works of art and incredible musical instruments. I've spent hours beside the creek where I live just tuning into the sounds around me and playing along with the natural world. I've had deer, coyote, bear and, even, a heron who came walking up the creek from down before come to visit while I play.I know a little about music but it really doesn't matter whether you do or not. You simply cannot play a bad not or melody on these wonderful instruments. I own one of these drums. It's absolutely brilliant, an incredibly beautiful piece of art, but also a finely-tuned and precise instrument. I'm not a musician, it's more of a calming relaxing experience for me. The way that the drum is constructed, no tones ever sound bad together. So even if you don't have much musical experience, you can always create beautiful sounds with this instrument. I also loaned mine to a friend of mine, whose young son was having some issues with anger and self-control, and he absolutely adores it. So not only is it a musical instrument, and an art piece, but it's also a device that can be used for therapeutic and calming meditative practices. I can't say enough good things about my drum.
