I contacted Allison Piano a few years ago about restoring a vintage Kimball upright that has been in our family for almost 100 years. Keith visited our house and examined and explained all the issues and suggestions. The quote was very fair and all the work was fully explained and detailed. The restoration was completed just over a year ago and this great old character instrument is now in use in my recording studio and in the best shape it's been in during my lifetime. Look forward to having Allison Piano continue to tune and take care of this instrument in the years to come. Highly recommended.

Quality tuning, voicing, regulating, troubleshooting. Keith is knowledgeable and experienced in fine tuning and bringing out the warmth often lacking in new or deteriorated pianos. My U3 had the brightness taken right down without going too far - the treble still has brilliance and Keith made adjustments to the key actions for soft uniform playing. His tuning skill has revitalized the sound previously lost from a short notice tuning job from a different service. If you are not a fan of Yamaha brightness / dullness but possess one for whatever reason, please give Allison Piano a visit.Seeing Keith diagnose and remedy the U3 gives me confidence to buy from a wider selection in the future knowing the vast potential for improvements that can be performed to a high degree of expectation. He understands well the tuning-voicing relationship (I had two subsequent visits within 2-3 months), the different forms of tuning, and relates quickly to the customer's aims.Keith is familiar with piano models and recognizes each instrument's distinctions and shortcomings. Highly recommended - really without substitute in Victoria if you are picky about tonal quality and touch.Fast to pinpoint sources of issues. Honest and efficient. Worth the cost!Also recommended for thorough buyer's appraisal before a big purchase.(Tim and Wayne are knowledgeable as well. No tuning experience with them therefore can't speak to their effectiveness regarding tunes)

Our Yamaha G1 piano was damaged when moving to our new residence and the moving company selected Allison Piano & Restoration to conduct the repairs. The piano was removed from our home and we were pleasantly surprised when it was delivered a couple of weeks later. They did an amazing job on our treasured G1 and the repairs made were of high quality! Also, thank you Keith for calling to ensure we were satisfied with your company`s craftsmanship. I'm a performer's level pianist and we were looking for a grand piano that was responsive, had incredible tone and resonance, and matched the decor of the room in which we planned for it to be. When we first walked into Allison Piano and met the very knowledgeable and friendly owner Keith, we were in awe of the selection—uprights, grands of various sizes, new and old—from more affordable brands to Steinways and Bösendorfers. We walked out of the store having made a deal on a charming 1907 Steinway and within a week, it was refinished, detailed, and delivered. It even came with a matching old bench and comprehensive tuning once the piano had settled in its place for a few weeks. Could not have asked for a better transaction. Look nowhere else for your piano!
