Care Life Fleetwood

My Grandma was transferred here from the hospital a week ago. The staff are not only very negligent in their care, but now they're saying that her room has been rented out and she has to go. Get this though, theFraser Health Authority clearly states that the patient is entitled to seven (7) weeks minimum, for proper rehabilitation. This place is a fricken' joke, but nobody's laughing. Heartless

No Humanity or Kindness as required in care homes.

My mom was put into this carehome one year ago. She was unable to walk or feed herself. The caregivers would leave her meals on the table and walk away. My mother needed to be fed , as she was weak and frail. When I asked why no one fed her, they would make excuses and blame Fraser Health. I would visit my mom many times and she would be in bed wearing wet and dirty clothes. She was neglected and her health deteriorated.The manager had an uncaring attitude and lacked empathy . She did not take my concerns seriously and nothing changed with the care my mom received .I would not recommend putting your loved one in this place.

My husband was at CareLife Fleetwood PATH Unit from Thursday, April 6 to 20, 2023. The nursing staff and care aides provided quality care to my husband during his stay. This was a comfort to myself and my family knowing he was well cared for during this transition period to home. The Physiotherapy and Occupational staff were able to get my husband mobile again. The facility was spotless thanks to the dedicated cleaning staff. We were most fortunate that his transition to home was at this facility.

They need to hire more care aides at night because there are patients who have problems going to the bathroom. I took mydad out because he slept on the wheelchair all night.

Recently I called the administration at Carelife Fleetwood to enquire about a cousin whom I had heard was put into this facility within the last 6 months. The person that spoke with me was very helpful. She listened to my concerns about my cousin and returned my call (I live in Ontario) within a very short period of time. She gave me a full report of his condition and even allowed me to speak with him. I am so impressed with this facility and its employees. This employee of Carelife Fleetwood showed such genuine empathy and concern for both my cousin and for me. I was dealing with the shock of learning about a close relative who was now in a challenging mental state. Thank you so much for being so kind and thoughtful and amazingly professional. The most caring and lovely people work here! Specifically the PATH unit staff, who are second to none! They treat you as a human being, are always happy and always give you their time. Can’t say enough positive things about the PATH unit. ❤️

In my father’s final days, he, unfortunately, had to reside here. I truly wish we could’ve removed this part of his final days — I hope the same for other families and patients that must endure their service.He was yelled at, ignored at, and his spirits put down. Please do try and make aggressive changes … or close the place.

My Mother is being abused, both physically and verbally. We have documented with pictures her bruises and screams when on the phone. Has been at least 6-7 months of no management. Mother was transferred here from hospital. Trying to move her out. Her items have been stolen, her watch, clothing, pyjamas, shoes, 3 sets of dentures, wedding ring, which was in posession of staff The staff are rude, they do not answer phone, are on break or not to be seen. Or in hallway at night making noise. They do not properly cover her at night, she is left cold. The Managent changes so much and are never available, the last one was drinking wine in the middle of the day behind the front desk. Hard to believe this is a place for our loved ones who are left to fend for themselves if lucky put in front of the T.V and left there. It is not a place for anyone let alone a Senior Citizen It does not abide by its name. Carelife Fleetwood does not care. I see why they are rated so low. Absolutely Disgusting terrible place. Shame on you Carelife. Fortunately, have brought in witnesses. Both legal and others. Can anyone recommend somewhere else please?

The whole set up is a joke. They are least concerned about welfare or well being of the residents. The management is also incompetent/funny n patient quality care office on top of them is also hand in glove with them. Hence be careful.
