Peace Arch Hospital: Emergency Room

I haven't been in an emergency room since I was a kid so going back to one now was kind of all new to me. I had no idea how broken our health care system is that I had to wait 6 1/2 hours the 1st time to talk to a doctor for 10 minutes and then 4 1/2 hours the 2nd time to talk to a doctor for 5 minutes and just recently today another 5 hours to talk to a doctor who I don't know why, but just doesn't understand that I'm telling her I'm in acute pain. They keep prescribing me things that are about as strong as a baby aspirin and I'm in such severe pain. They will not give narcotics, it's just unbelievable to me. I would avoid it if I was you

A hospital emergency room is one of the last places you would choose to go, but when you need one, this is a good one.The person in charge of triage in emergency admitting was helpful, efficient, considerate, & very real, despite having what must be a high-stress job.The doctor was capable, knowledgeable, & had a sense of humor -- something rare in these settings.Be prepared to wait, especially if what you are there for is not a life-or-death immediacy, since they will look after those situations first, as they should.

One of the best hospitals. I spent 8 hours in emergency room but I’m not going to complain about the time I had to spent. Important is all the staff were very busy, yet attentive, professional and kind. I was so impressed by how all the nurses and doctors worked so hard with kindness and respect. I’m grateful, because those 8 hours I witnessed elders, sick, people in pain and that itself is a great life lesson. It was also an opportunity to meet people of the community and be able to be sympathetic and kind. Thanks to all the hospital staff for their commitment and service to community.

Recent visit WR Hospital Emergency was lengthy due to required tests for my situation. I was very impressed by everyone I had contact with. The new to me facility is modern and efficient. My thanks to all for their patience, thoughtfulness and professionalism. Grateful to/for all of you.

Amazing and caring staff took care of me from ER to Medical Imaging to Surgery and Recovery. Wait times were very reasonable compared to my experiences at other hospitals. New surgical ward is state of the art. Im only ever going here now.

Our daughter passed out ladt night , had to rush to Peace Arch Hospital Emergency, we were taken care at the reception by Nurse GArry ,he was very supporting and caring . Then inside the room Nurse ERIN was also Perfect too nice and caring for our daughter. our daughter was seen by Dr.Gomez she was just wonderful person , she explained us everything so nicely . Thankyou so much for taking good care of our daughter. WE REALLY NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE , nurse Garry, nurse Erin and Dr.Gomez to have our kids and paitients coming in to be in Safe Hands .

This is an appreciation post for the kind staff at Peace Arch Hospital. The beautiful Triage Nurse who booked me in, looked me in the eye and comforted me with the words, one step at a time" and I can't tell you how this set my mind at ease. Nurse Jamie in the ER was calm and attentive

Thanks to the staff of peace Arch Emergency. They are so understanding and though waiting times are sometimes long, they do their absolute best to look after you within a reasonable time. Thanks for everything you do. My husband and I are very appreciative .

Worst hospital ever. My 3rd visit in 10days. They send me home saying its panic attack without any medication. I wanted to ask if they could give me something for my pain the nurse rudely said what are you wondering.

I have to say, we have heard a whole lot about Emergency Room wait times and poor staffing... NOT our experience at all, especially on Halloween and anyone would have expected the staff to be overwhelmed and on edge. My wife had a bad fall and injured her shoulder, the front end staff got us checked in and the triage nurse took all the details. The total time from check in, initial X-rays, consult with Dr. Hendry to a second round of X-rays followed up with Nurse Patricia in the Cast Room fitting her arm and shoulder brace was only 2 hours... How can anyone expect more than that. My wife was diagnosed with a Proximal Humerus Head Fracture in her shoulder, we left with really good advise, some pain medication and an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon at the hospital within a week, REALLY with in a week!!! How Great. The x-ray technician was kind and gentle and Nurse Patricia was warm and empathetic.A really big Thank You to the Staff at Peace Arch Hospital Emergency October 31, 2021With every good wish,John & Karen
