Muskoka Foundry

We just ate at Smokin hot BBQ in the foundry. Let me say, we ordered the smoked turkey and it was a life changing experience. I also had the Piggly Wiggly sandwich. Wear your elastic waistband pants when you go. During the meal we had a visit from the owner and chef. A very nice touch.

Recently attended an event at the Foundry.. what a cool space …really unique …not your ‘cookie cutter’ event space…lots of character. Loved the food offered by Smokin’ Hot BBQ…it’s the ‘real deal’, authentic BBQ by people who know what they are doing, and a staff that cares about your experience…highly recommend! Will definitely be back!

Attended a wedding last weekend & was extremely unimpressed with Scott and his team. While setting up for the rehearsal dinner they still invited the public to eat at their establishment. I then over heard staff & local’s talking about how us being there was an inconvenience as we were a large party ordering lots of food & drinks. If you want to talk about inconveniences, try changing all the table cloths already set out because the public just helped themselves to the reception tables trying to be set up for the next day. Not to mention the venue still being open to the public the DAY OF THE WEDDING. The food was delivered extremely slowly ( if you even got your food at all, as many didn’t) cold & the portion sizes wouldn’t feed a bird.It is such a shame about Scott’s attitude & his teams attitude towards an event that is supposed to be memorable as the venue was beautiful. Make sure you don’t take shots with the alcohol you paid for, for the open bar either. Because as much as you’d think he’d inform the bartenders of the rules or expectations your guests will be made out to be the “liability” & he will cut everyone off at 11:30.I would give zero stars if i could

The best food I've EVER had, hands down at Smokin Hot BBQ.. I highly recommend it. Massive custom smokers from Texas, loaded with cherry wood... It's the real deal. The brisket is perfect, the beans are amazing, the ribs will blow your mind, with a side of subtly sweet corn bread... You will be STOMPING YOUR FEET. Stuff yourself. It's heaven on Earth

I recently attended a wedding here and the owner was very unprofessional and the service was worse. There wasn't enough chairs pulled out for the ceremony, so some guests had to stand through this.When it was time for dinner, I watched a handful of people receive their dishes while so many others did not. I was one of those who did not receive my dinner plate at all, even after asking specifically for it to be brought out as I still hadn't eaten anything. While patiently waiting for food that never came, it was also brought to my attention that a lot of the food provided was very overcooked.On top of that, this place kept it's business open to the public while also hosting a private event which also felt highly unprofessional - Who does that when someone has rented your venue FOR A WEDDING?! Needless to say, do not go to this place to host any special event or evening unless you want the worst service, strangers showing up (because they won't close to the public), over cooked food or no food at all for your guests. I think we all expected more from Scott and his team, overall negative 5 stars.

What a great venue for wedding and conferences. I love the Farm Store with all its unique items like specialty soaps, oils, vinegars, and wines. And the Smoking Hot BBQ has the best brisket.

PUBLIC NOTICE:All issues between the venue and the bride and groom are being dealt with (hopefully) in the most respectful manor possible.The previous “review” by Andrea Moore is not accurate (she was not a guest at the wedding, so how does she know what actually happened … and if she was in attendance, she is an employee which would mean she has a conflict of interest) but it honestly doesn’t matter as the Bride and Groom as well as the host (venue owner) know what has happened and AGAIN are dealing with it.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of attending a wedding at the Muskoka Foundry. I cannot emphasize enough how utterly disappointed I am with this venue and their so-called services. If I could give them zero stars, I would gladly do so.Let's begin with the most basic requirement of any event: food. Or should I say the lack thereof? It was a complete and utter joke. Not only did many guests go hungry throughout the evening, but those who did manage to get a plate were left regretting it. The quality of the food was nothing short of abysmal, especially considering the exorbitant amount of money the bride and groom were charged for this event. Muskoka Foundry, if you're going to charge top dollar for catering, the least you can do is provide memorable food.And speaking of catering, let's not forget the colossal mistake of hiring Smoking Hot BBQ. I don't know where they found these people, but their cooking skills were non-existent. The taste was bland, the meat was dry, and the sides were nothing more than a sad excuse for accompaniments. It felt like they put zero effort into ensuring the guests had a memorable dining experience. Well, they certainly succeeded in that regard, but for all the wrong reasons.But wait, it gets worse. Just when we thought things couldn't possibly deteriorate any further, Muskoka Foundry tried to cut everyone off from the open bar at 9:30 PM. I mean, who does that? The bar was only open from 6-7 and then 8-9:30 before they wanted more money!!! And then closed it down at 11:30. It's not like the wedding was over or anything. No, they just arbitrarily decided that the party should come to an abrupt halt because he wanted to keep more money in his pocket. It's clear from other reviews that he doesn't pay his vendors either.Overall, the Muskoka Foundry proved to be an utter disappointment and a complete waste of money. The lack of food, the terrible quality of what was served, and the premature closing of the open bar were all signs of a venue that is utterly incompetent and has no regard for their guests' experience. I strongly advise anyone considering this place for their event to look elsewhere.Furthermore, it's painfully obvious that all the recent 5-star reviews praising Muskoka Foundry are nothing more than a deceptive attempt by the owner's friends to boost the venue's rating. It's clear as day that these glowing reviews are insincere and lack any credibility. It's a shame that the owner feels the need to manipulate the public perception instead of addressing the actual issues at hand.
