Avoid taking online courses here at all costs. As others have said the course quality is beyond poor. My instructor Yuanshin Li was HORRIBLE. You basically read a textbook and do tests and that's it. Zero interaction and no support at all. He sets the final exam for an undergrad finance course to 70% (which was a breach of policy) of your final grade but then doesn't teach you a single thing or tell you what is covered on the exam. When I asked for help he told me to get tutoring or sent me a random YouTube video. No final exam review or information on where to focus studying. This was the worst course I've ever taken in my life. If you're already gifted and well versed in finance you might scrape by but if not DO NOT TAKE IT ONLINE.

I took magazine publishing courses. The magazine publishing course were excellent, but I don't know about courses in other topics. By the way, if you are on low income, you can apply for the CESAR bursary (check deadlines) that can cover up to $500 towards a course. I got two bursaries before and it helped a lot.I find George Brown College also has good courses, more classroom hours for a lower price (it's the best deal), but in the Novel Writing 1 I'm taking this term, it seems the students at Ryerson are more diverse and therefore it's a better dynamic, even though the Novel Writing 1 course at GBC is 10 hours longer and $200 less. Maybe Ryerson courses are for specific subjects and for people who have money!

I have been there 2 times to ask few questions about their certificates and courses, but in those 2 times nobody could solve my inquiries and problems (2015 and 2018). The staff at the reception does not make you fell welcome, they are even rude, and definitely are more worried about their personal life than solving questions about their programs. During 2015 one receptionist said: Well

I have to agree with the other reviewers that this place is all about money with zero respect for students. I enrolled in a writing class. I took one class and realized that it wasn't going to work for me. I withdrew from the class. I understood that there was no 100% refund after one class, but there was no mention of partial refunds - which would have been fair. I was told 'no refund once classes have started, not even a partial refund'. I am 75, have limited fixed income and just trying to keep my mind active. I asked if I could then transfer my payment to take another class instead and I was told I had no other options but to lose $500 after taking one class. Really disgusting treatment of students. Stay away from this place. They just want your money.

I'm doing a part-time degree program through the Chang School and have taken five Chang school courses thus far. My experience with the School has been frustrating. Overall I did very well on all the courses, but I can honestly say that's all due to self teaching by watching Youtube videos. The courses were delivered is such poor quality that I got a feeling that the instructors at Chang School don't really care about their students. I've had an instructor cancel the labs for the entire semester, an instructor who did not respond to my emails, an instructor who refused to let me review midterm exam questions after they had been marked citing academic misconduct concerns, and an instructor who taught 1.5 hours for a lecture that was supposed to be 5 hours long and told us to study the material ourselves. The Chang School is first and foremost run as a business, but even then it fails to deliver quality services to its customers. I regret my decision to enrol in my program.

Ryerson does not care about their students. If you have an issue, they will not respond to your concerns. They will consistently cancel classes for which you have enrolled without providing legitimate reasons for cancellation. Their courses are also NOT intended for working professionals or people with kids. The work load is unrealistic. If you have a choice... DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL! Their main concern is the money lining their pockets, not education.

Chang School at Ryerson University provides courses and classes for those who work part/full time and need to get a diploma or degree. Quality of education provides at Chang is acceptable, but not the best.

Do NOT take any courses through chang school that are not for degree credit. I took 2 certificates 1) computer security and digital forensics and 2) data analytics one. Both of them were horrible, I didn't learn anything that I couldn't learn on my own. Instructors have little to no knowledge. Teaching quality was poor. Anne-Marie who is the program director should be charged for purposely providing false information about employment. She has lied again and again just to get more students in the program. THIS UNIVERSITY JUST WANTS TO MAKE $ AND TAKE STUDENTS HARD EARNED $

Not an education institution, completely money driven. Did not even take a class (or go to it, because I dropped it) and I still have to pay 50% of the fee. I get the dates are on your page, but make it make sense. I received no service from you guys yet I have to pay a fee. Avaricious school.

I am a student in the Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Management certificate. It has been a series of great online courses that were flexible in delivery so as not to affect my work. The certificate has advanced me in my career, and given me a gateway as a mature student to re enter further university studies.
