Not as big as other facilities, and a little bit outdated but I can see that the facility is being improved. Lockers are free with electronic combination lock. Wasn't like this before. The pool is of a good size. Very good pool for the kids and the other side for the adults as well. Lifeguards are okay except for this tall and thin blonde woman who's mission is probably to be the strictest marine drill instructor. Keeps on telling everybody don't do this don't do that watch your children you are not allowed to use this you can't use that. She just loves to ruin the fun experience for everybody.

For going to this gym for over 5 years, I really wouldn't discount this one, despite being one of the smaller rec centres. You can get A LOT done, and as a regular, some really swole (and really hot lol) dudes keep coming back. So clearly it's not that bad. If anything, it's severely underrated. The only complaint is it can feel crowded during certain hours. The lack of equipment can exacerbate this. It's great when it's like 2-3 people, though. Also, just expect a lot of newbies.More technical points. Two squat racks. One incline bench press. One regular bench press. One typical LifeFitness cable system (which includes [most?] all the attachments: handle, rope, bar, longer bar, lat pulldown bar, close grip row bar, etc.) One Smith Machine. One smaller cable system. One preacher curl bench (and small bar). Plentiful array of dumbbells. Some kettlebells. One Bosu ball. One seated shoulder press. Both horizontal and 45-degree leg press. One back extension. One leg extension. One seated leg curl. One chest fly/rear deltoid fly. One seated row. One chest press machine. One assisted pullup/dip machine. One regular dip machine. Two Keiser bikes. Two Concept2 rowing machines. And enough bikes, ellipticals, and treadmills.

The family room for the pool is completely disconnected from the pool and requires you take a path right by a large windowed (ai only saw men in there) fitness area in your swimsuit and then walk back wet to leave. Staff were very unfriendly and the pool itself is too cold for children (and this mama too brrrr). There are 3 separate fitness areas with seemingly similar equipment in each one, so the set up seems pointless. Overall it was a negative experience, which is really disheartening as there are already so few options for swimming in the NW of Edmonton

My favourite fitness centre, I'm almost tempted to not" review because I don't want the place to get cramped! Great staff

Just bought a continuous monthly membership to Grand Trunk and am so far loving it. Gym is a bit small, but it is a smaller leisure centre, so that's alright. Staff has been super friendly, and all the equipment has so far been clean and in working condition. Can't wait to test out the pool and sauna soon!

Bad experience.First time visiting this facility and the front desk was extremely rude. I ignored her retorts thinking maybe she had a bad day but when I asked if there was a disability parking closer to the entrance since I had fractures and was scared of falling on ice, she said whatever parking is outside park there. Okkkay.... I asked about the pool schedule, disability parking, and fitness facilities, she gave me looks and told me to take a round myself. She said rolling her eyes that she's from Clairview and too busy (though I could see the schedule near her and I was the only one there at 9pm, lol).I found there were 3 different small fitness areas without any music and lockers that sometimes don't work. The guard was called to unlock my locker with a special key. Not professional at all, bad experience.

i had very bad experience trying to swim. while trying to swim laps i was constantly followed by a fat out if shape construction worker with a hipster top knot. he didnt even have the courtesy to say hello to me. but talked to everyone else. quite blatantly racist. they must have a code on their radio's because the other white girl working with hin kept signalling him to come out of the office when i stepped into the pool. it made me feel very uncomfortable. stop your blantant racism white people. its getting supet annoying. go back to europe if you dont like the color of my skin.

Good quiet place to take your kids for swimming lessons. Especially if you have other kids that you need to bring with you. Grand Trunk has a small play area for those kids waiting for their siblings lessons. They have seating outlining the play area so it’s great for parents who can keep an eye on one child playing while simultaneously watching their other child swim. However, there is one particular lifeguard who makes it her mission to berate parents for not being inside the gate of the play place, even though you’re the same distance away being just outside the gate. I’ve spoken with multiple parents who are frustrated with this ridiculous rule that is only enforced by one woman. She is single handedly ruining our experience at this pool. She’s the tall blonde lifeguard and seems to have seniority over the other lifeguards (and everyone in the building).
