Eco-Yards

I can't speak to the quality of workmanship, since our project never materialized.Timeline: I reached out to Bob at Eco Yards on March 7th. He put us in touch with an independent designer, who designed a beautiful yard for us at the end of March. I approved the plan and sent it to Bob on April 11th, and he told us it would be a few weeks for an estimate. I followed up on May 10th, and May 18th. When Bob came by on May 22nd it was like he hadn't even looked at the plan. I followed up again on June 8th, then on June 21st, and heard nothing. Bob and a hardscaping estimator of his finally visited on August 30th. I followed up again on September 22nd, and Bob replied that he would be able to get the estimate done over the weekend." I still don't have an estimate.I'm sure that

I have several years experience working with Eco-Yards and their excellent owner and staff. I feel so fortunate to have found a like minded company that values all the ideas you have and then incorporates them into the work they do for you. I have a large yard that sports many trees and many overhanging trees from my neighbour. It is a shaded yard that wasn't grass friendly so I worked with their owner to come up with an excellent plan to remove all the grass and replace part of it with a lovely and serviceable Kootenay stone patio with built in fire ring. This was all hand dug to protect my 70 foot larch tree which I very much appreciate as it is a feature of my garden and much loved.As I was waiting for a new hip in the years after this I used their staff for all sorts of jobs in my yard from laying new stone pathways, replacing mulch, weeding, planting perennials , fall and spring yard clean up and the installation of an archway and decorative wall both in cedar.I would not hesitate to pass on the name of Eco-Yards to any of my friends and family and will continue to use them for jobs in my yard that require more effort than I can muster.

We've use Eco-Yards to transform our whole yard from a spec house to an oasis. We had all of our grass removed and replaced with low-maintenance perennials and a self-sustaining swale. Even though the cost was quite high, the value added to our home due to the improved curb appeal far outweighs that fact. Laureen's extensive contacts aided us to find a solution to a difficult drainage issue which no other contractor had a solution for. She was able to give us a great design despite the fact that our yard had some unique challenges including slopes and retaining walls. Laureen and her crew planned and executed the work on time and were very considerate with the cleanup. We would highly recommend Eco-Yards to anyone and we would use their services again in the future.

We were referred to Eco-Yards by friends and are very happy with their knowledge, expertise, professionalism and interest in our residential landscaping project. We worked with Laureen on our entire yard and are incredibly pleased with the results. Within three years of planting, our beautiful inner-city yard requires little maintenance, and is filled with dozens of pollinator-friendly perennials, as well as raspberries, wild strawberries, gooseberries, cherries, grapes, Saskatoon berries, currants, honeyberries, apples, and pears—and the harvest is incredible. Laureen also created an effective system to harvest the rain water from our roof, and her crew built a beautiful fence and hammock stand. We found Laureen and all the Eco-Yards staff to be friendly, diligent, and respectful.

Laureen and her crew designed and transformed my previously lawned backyard into a xeriscaped space that continues to attract birds and bees. She overcame the challenge of the steep slope by sourcing tree trunks instead of building expensive retaining walls. The crew are respectful and thorough and I would commend her services to all.

I appreciate the principles Eco-yards stand for. We have been working with them for almost four years. Our yard has lots of clay and the strong winds combined with intense sunlight make it difficult on the trees and shrubs. Eco-yards have been good at replacing the trees that did not make it, albeit sometimes with long delays. They are passionate about their work and will ultimately stand by it. We recommend their work even though our own experience was not as smooth as we had hoped for.

Not sure how the company works but the employees obviously don't know how to drive. Just had one in a small gold ford ranger drive through a stop sign right in front of me. Not sure if I'll ever need yard work done but you can bet I won't be going with this company! And that's a guarantee.

Eco Yards designed and installed our extensive greenery in our front yard. The mix of flowering perennials, low profile evergreens, flowering shrubs, decorative rock work, etc... has provided wonderful colours for an extended portion of the summer and has proved to be a real hit with many of our neighbors, some of whom have actually knocked on our door to tell us just how much they enjoy walking by our yard. We have asked Eco Yard crews to help with major pruning of shrubs and evergreens and they have always done an excellent job. We have indeed learned a great deal from them working side by side on pruning and weeding. I would not hesitate to use Eco Yards again or to recommend them to neighbors and friends. No question our extensive landscaping was not inexpensive but it has been a wonderful complement to our home.
