H&R Block

I made the mistake of choosing H&R Block to do my wife's US taxes.I made a call over the weekend to inquire about the process and was assured I would have a US tax specialist call me on Monday to go over the process. No call was made. I thought to myself mistakes happen so I called myself and made an appointment. When we showed up for our appointment, they then decided to tell us that not only do they not do in person appointments for US taxes, that they also charge $500 for them.Knowing either of these things would have been fantastic before we made the time commitment to come here.There are a dozen of other businesses in the immediate area that will do your taxes both more professionally and for a lower cost. Don't make the same mistake we did and avoid this location.

I have used H & R Block for a few years now and will continue using them. I dropped my items off at their office and was called the next day to say it was ready for pick up. So simple and very efficient.

The staff were patient, friendly and personable. It was a pleasant experience

I am such a scatter brain and coke on the last day to do my personal taxes. This H&R block didn’t make me feel bad for it and took me in right away. Maysa did my taxes and she was so patient, polite and helpful on many levels!!! She knows her stuff and is very fast! Great experience having Maysa help me out! She stayed late just to help me out, I am so grateful! She cares about people holistically.

My tax preparer, Olga Bajus, is exceptional. Not only is she courteous, knowledgeable and professional, but she takes the time to explain everything, especially if there are any changes to the tax code or your tax return. She really knows her stuff. I would not use anyone else to do my taxes!The office space itself is open, bright and clean, with enough chairs in the reception area should one have to wait.

Be careful when you book appointments. I went through the website, checked off that I would be doing taxes on behalf of my dad - deceased/estate. Left work early to get to a 5pm appointment only to find out the rep they booked me with did not do that kind of taxes. Instead of aiding to find a new appointment, or even apologizing for their mistake, just kept saying they tried to call me (nope, no missed calls or voicemails were left) and to come back another day and see if the guy is here.This is the same location who called me a week ago asking to speak to my dad, who is very much gone, and has been since last year. They did his taxes last year. They know this information.Not happy with the lack of services provided from this location. Will be taking our services elsewhere.

I am not happy with my h&r block experience. They pulled the wool over my eyes and had me sign something consenting for them to do my taxes every year! Well, I didn't know this, so I went elsewhere to have them done only to receive a notification from h&r that my tax refund had been uploaded to my advantage card (the advantage card that I never wanted, I wanted simple checks in the mail) and my tax refund was over 200 dollars less than it was supposed to be. So in summary, I paid to have my taxes done elsewhere, only to have h&r block charge me more than twice as much and take further deductions off my refund! They are a scam and their customer service is c***.

The fee doubled because I had 2 T4s. One was from work the other was from EI (off work for surgery). The one I went to smelled so bad that I had to question it thier employees used deodorant. I was also very concerned that representative barely spoke English. He had to have someone else come to answer my questions. I appreciate that it wasn't his first language however; a single misunderstanding could seriously end up costing me.I will never go back to H&R Block. Maximum cost for little work. Disgusting

First time filing here. Did back taxes of 8 years or so. Was told to see my return on the prepaid H&R Block Advantage Visa, I would have to wait 7-10 days because of how busy it is during tax season.We are reaching almost a month now, and I have had a total of 580.00 in a return that H&R Block drained from the card. Phone tag with the tax expert at the office isn't fun either.Very unprofessional. Do not recommend you go here.
