I purchased a newly built home and shopped around for home insurance for months. I walked in without and appointment on my lunch break, left them some details and they emailed me a quote the next day.This branch had provided me with the lowest quote for the most coverage by a long mile - it wasn't even comparable to some of the quotes we got.I had the pleasure of working with Amanda and then her supervisor Corrine. When I came in to review my quote and purchase the insurance plan I got a slightly revised policy for even less with more meaningful coverage for our situation and lower deductibles.The other staff were very friendly and offered to make me coffee or tea while I waited. :) I would really recommend!

I had a great experience signing up for this bank, but didn't get the follow up regarding additional services that I was told would happen. I would like to go in and take care of it myself, but their business hours make it impossible for anyone working a regular job! Couldn't you stay open late just one day a week, or maybe be open a half day Saturday? Not everyone is retired!!

They put 7-10 day holds on all deposits, including cash. Cards don't have tap in 2020. Staff are friendly but all basic banking needs take way too long. There are better credit unions.

The staff here are really nice and helpful, as well as knowledgeable on their product. The leggings themselves, for the price, are substandard. With casual wear on a regular basis and following wash instructions (or hand wash/hang dry as I own several pairs and have experimented), these leggings only last a maximum of 3-4 months before getting holes, especially if your thighs rub. Since most women don't have a sizeable thigh gap, I'd recommend staying away from these leggings. Unfortunate, since they have a range of plus size patterns that fit well, but just don't stand up to the wear and tear of walking.

I've been a member of Island Savings for 12 years. I consider this to be one of the best businesses in Victoria. Their service is easily the best I've experienced in a financial institution and they continue to earn my loyalty on a regular basis. Couldn't give them higher marks!

Hours have changed from original to no weekends. Cannot reach anyone at my branch OR anywhere for that matter! On hold for unreasonable time - ALL the time now, since being redirected to “call centre” I’ve been waiting for 15 minutes now, so figured It was a good time to provide some honest feedback. Since the changeover, I’m beginning to feel like a dead number. All of the reasons I decided to bank w/ Island Savings 8 years ago, are no longer valid. You have wonderful people on the front line - but big FAIL on treating your customers like wonderful real people, from your systems/processing end. Sad to have to shop around again for a better banking experience. Let’s see how long it takes for someone to get back to me. 20 minutes on hold now, so took your callback option offered by your robot. We’ll see how long it takes - you will either gain or lose another star. Sheesh.Part 2 - 1 day later. Sorry, but I had to demote your review to one star. It was 4-hours later yesterday, that someone finally returned my call from the 1-888-call centre. The person who called was extremely pleasant (5 stars just for her!), but unable to assist, as the branch was closed by then. Next day now, I finally receive a call-back from my home branch and am informed that I could not be helped, regardless -- as the meeting room, where business clients could normally arrange meetings, was no longer being offered to clients, due to Covid - no matter that it was only 2 individuals sitting 6-feet apart with masks -- not satisfactory, I was told. It is simply off limits now. My business, along with many others, require extra help during these trying times - NOT a reduction to minimal services. It seems that every other business and organization has been adapting to the pandemic, except yours. I now regret having recommended several clients to Island Savings, especially in the past year. It is evident that you simply stopped caring and serving your existing customers and no longer provide the services that had set-you aside from other institutions. Removing services, cutting hours and not being able to reach anyone at my home branch is unacceptable, as far as I am concerned. Those I had sent your way are equally frustrated. I have a business to run, regardless, and will be shopping for a bank that can support my growth and success. Thanks for your response, albeit 24 hours later. It will be interesting to see how long it takes a real person to reach out, as you promise here. If it is tomorrow (or never) I will edit again and you will have NO stars left. I really do hope you will take my feedback seriously. Your organization has some work to do to keep me as a customer. I will surely not be sending any further referrals your way - sorry to say. The buck stops here.

The ATM room is locked at night. That's pretty helpful if you need to use the ATM at night :/

I have been dealing with Island Savings for 35 years. Today I went to Mayfair to deposit a cheque for my wife. Could not do it. So I called the number. Waited 15 minutes on hold. I have always liked dealing with a credit union. This one is turning into a bank. Brutal

Ive had a few issues with island savings in the past but in recent months it has gotten extremely worse. Saw a sign of car scanning fraud, called the 1-888 but since the bank was not open I could not block my account from being used. went in and asked them to close all my accounts with them but they refused due to me having a check on hold and refused to give me access to my hard earned money. Being a bank that isn't open on weekend anyone who works during the week can't go in and they expect you to take time off work to sort out an issue on their end. They asked me why I want to close my accounts but it sounded like my answer was not good enough for the manager. The poor guy working the till looked extremely uncomfortable as the manager was extremely rude to me as a customer. Ive never been so insulted at a bank, being young they've also told me my money isn't real" (quotes from a past experience) due to my age so every cent must go on hold. I have opened an account at a better bank who don't discriminate me for my age and allow me to use my money and not hold it against me. If a customer asks to close their account... best to do it. I am extremely appalled by the way I was talked to by the manager. All island savings wants is your money and I wish you luck trying to get it back while closing your accounts. Run don't walk."

This is my first experience with a credit union. Coming from the big bank I did not know what to expect, CIBC, TD, Royal Bank, Bank of montreal I had them all. I am always treated with respect and they very helpful. I come in and out quickly. I go to the Mayfair location. I am happy my money stays in the community. Instead of those big banks (laying people off and sending the jobs oversees).
