This place has become my go-to cafe . It has such a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The coffee is really good and they use tasty oat milk. The pastries are amazing ! They always have a different selection of scones and muffins and more when I come. Staff are also very friendly . Good to have a chat with while waiting for your order. The only thing that would be nice is to have the prices added to the menu as I feel it would help people out when ordering ! Otherwise, speaking as a regular here, you simply must try it ! Thanks guys and see you again soon!

The Hidden Gem is well named. Just around the corner from Kay's and up what may be an walkway/alley is an excellent place for tea, coffee, ice cream (with interesting flavours such as strawberry rhubarb and black sesame among the usuals). The highlight is the baking - cookies, scones, cakes are prepared by a talented chef or someone with the talent of a trained chef. I had the lemon cookie with a thin covering of lemon icing. Very tasty and since I am not usually choosing a cookie this one gets a 10 from me. My friend opted for the almond which was a bit crisper but excellent to dip into her tea. (this one was a perfect looking cookie) Lots of selection - double what we would expect. Urn of water to self serve. We arrived on a sunny day and sat in the outside area on chairs in the shade. A couple picnic tables nearby as well. It was the perfect setting and a good memory. Surprised to find that this place existed - Signboard on the street so easy to find. A happy place.

Love the plant based ice cream!! Especially the raspberry brownie flavor, it’s not that sweet compare to other flavors even other ice cream! Definitely recommend to try with the waffles cone!

Absolutely amazing! The team here really care about their customers. I ordered a cake for my birthday and unfortunately time and transit was not on my side to go get it before they closed due to unforeseen circumstances. But I called them and they immediately offered to deliver it! They were sweet, kind, and polite and absolutely saved my birthday celebrations! On top of that, it’s such a cute cake! Seriously, thank you again Hidden Gem! Anytime I need sweet treats in the future, I’m coming to them :)

Best vegan ice cream around. Mint chip, peach, spice plum and blackberry orange have been some of my favs and they have charcoal waffle cones to boot. Great place to grab a coffee and cookie or scone to head out. Did I mention they also serve cake and other food? So good.

The Hidden Gem was just that - a hidden gem! We saw the signage from Cook Street as we were going for lunch and decided we would check it out afterwards.It was hard to find (the signs made it easier!) but it was a beautiful little shop with lots of gluten-free items and plant-based ice cream. The blood orange blackberry ice cream in a charcoal cone was perfection.

The Hidden Gem is so worth seeking out! Tucked into a charming outdoor spot that somehow feels welcoming during all seasons, you’ll find excellent coffee & tea plus fantastic homemade baked goods and ice cream. I’ve actually never been without adding an unplanned-for treat to my order (it’s hard to believe how many tasty things get pumped out of that little kitchen! Even the gluten-free vegan Happy Cookies are chubby little delights) and have never been disappointed. Another highlight is the delicious bite-size almond cookie that arrives balanced on the lid of the to-go cups. Highly recommend!

Really delicious lattes and baked goods but unfortunately the lack of transparency around pricing has detracted from my experience several times now. I have been charged different things by different people and most recently was charged an additional $1 for my request for skim milk (instead of 2%) and charged an additional $1 for adding a splash of almond milk to my friend’s coffee. If those charges were stated somewhere, I would have no problem paying them, but it’s the fact that it felt selective and applied inequitably (some days but not others) that really detracted from the overall experience. Their products are amazing and they should be proud of their pricing and apply it uniformly to everyone.
