Miss J's Tot Spot

Miss Js Tot Spot goes above and beyond for all children in her care. Jess is so passionate about childcare and shaping little minds - it shows through the many activities she plans and the many adventures she goes on with the kids. Meals are well portioned, healthy, usually homemade and fun. My daughter even came home telling me about certain meals and asking me to make them at home. Every week there was a small theme that would be elaborated on during the week, usually through group chats, YouTube virtual field trips, colouring pages and cute crafts. Twice a week ( weather permitting) the kids would go to a park or trail walk and sometimes even have a picnic lunch !Miss J's Tot Spot is a top notch daycare that highly recommend to anyone.

Completely inflexable and not tolerant of children that are fussing. Charges late fees for drop off and pick up. If you pick your child in the middle of the day for appointments, you aren't allowed to bring the child back that day.

-Provides basic care and basic supervision only.-Inadequent outdoor space on location (especially for non-walkers) -second story, 10 year old deck, extremely splintered-Provider misrepresents programing offered and is not confrontational with parents when issues arise or to address ongoing concerns.-Provider appears to be very open and flexible, however creates many barriers for parents to cross-Many fees that are difficult to navigate and rules that are said to be flexible are not.-Does not have additional assistance and appears very burnt out-Unreliable with an ever-changing schedule and rules/requirements. Takes a lot of time off.-We were told if we were to choose to vaccinate our child against COVID should the option become available, our child would be immediately terminated.-Unwilling to accommodate individualized needs in order to keep a low-maintenance group.-Our son started daycare still crawling. The first month of almost walking, the provider continuous stated how our son almost took his first steps, but provider likes to push them down or block them from doing so, so their first steps are taken at home. It wasn't until our son's DSW stated we needed progress with walking that the provider began encouraging walking. By then, our son would sit down and whine/cry when the provider noticed him walking.-Intruder protocol and location for where the children hide is public online.-Utilized this provider for approximately 6 months with a seemlying good rapport. Our son has been struggling at daycare for the last couple of weeks with inconsolable crying while there. Provider stated he only wanted to stay in bed, therefore spent approximately two weeks only in bed while at daycare, refusing to eat or drink frequently. When raising our concerns to the provider, the consistent response was that it was a non issue and to be patient.Example:I'm guessing he is eating really well at home for the most part because he isn't eating much here. I think that is due to teething so his eating habits should go back to normal once these teeth pop through.""I think it's just a growth spurt and things are changing with him

Amazing day care. My son went for a year and he loved it. Miss J's always coming up with new fun ideas for the kids and activities. Amazing meal plans pours her heart and soul into providing and fun kind and loving experience for all the kids.
