I had the hamburger steak. I ordered extra gravy and poured it on the hamburger. I ate most of it before seeing that the steak was RAW underneath. I got sick the next afternoon. Day 2. Still not feeling well..P.S. Coleslaw was very good.

I dined in and ordered 6 pieces of white chicken to take home. I paid $16. My take home 6 piece white was boxed and placed in a brown bag which was handed to me on my way out after I paid. I just got home to find that one of my “white pieces” is a chicken leg and 2 were wings.??? Really. I feel so ripped off. I suggest you inspect your order before leaving.

As this is one of my regular lunch spots since it is close to work I can highly recommend Chicken chef as having the best fried chicken in the city, always tastes fresh and is piping hot.

Today we decided to order some chicken fingers and salads for lunch.Some of the chicken was raw. We phoned to explain and we were told that the fingers were floating which means they are cooked.We asked for new fingers. They asked us to come pick up.We did not bring the uncooked fingers with us so they refused to issue us the newly cooked chicken fingers asking us “How do we know you didn’t eat the other ones?”I hope maybe the pictures will tell our story.I guess the customer is never right with this place.So we ordered from our regular place Roblin Grill. If you are reading this order from there instead. You will not be disappointed.

We dine here once every few months when traveling into Winnipeg and always enjoy it. Good service, good food, great value. Thank you so much for the warm welcome and fantastic dining experience.

Chicken Chef was very well priced with above average portions. We had the 3 piece Chicken dinner special. Cost was $9 and included 3 pieces of chicken, two sides, a dinner roll and a beverage. We also had the $12 Salisbury steak meal, which might be the best value around. Portion sizing is pretty much for two people and it comes with a heap of fries and 'slaw. According to the menu, they also serve pizza as well as hamburgers etc. Will hopefully try those items next time we're in...Service is average, but not so much that it's detrimental to the dining experience. The restaurant has wifi and is located very close to the Trans-Canada hwy and Portage Ave cloverleaf.
