Boulder Bear Climbing Centre

2 Stars for having a MoonBoard. The original structure of the gym is built well, however the add-ons by the owner appear structurally unsound. It is frustratingly common to find more than one spinner on whatever it is you are climbing, even on the MoonBoard.There are two large dogs owned by the management that regularly inhabit the gym. These dogs are constantly on the bouldering mats and running between people, often while barking aggressively. While falling off a boulder problem one of the dogs ran beneath me and took my legs out- flipping me over so I landed on my head. The management does not respond well to requests to tie up the dogs.The Moonboard is worth some of the hassle, however there are better community areas around to meet up with climbers and catch a belay- specifically the parking lots of most crags.

Fun climbing experience, seems to be popular for kids parties, can be a bit annoying with lots of kids running around especially when you're trying to jump down after finishing a climb.Fun time, would recommend

Had my daughters birthday party here. The staff were so amazing and great with the kids. Very attentive and everyone at the party had a great time.

Fabulous place for wall climbing, spacious, variety of walls for youth and adults.

We were there for the first time and I have to say I was thrilled, we had a lot of fun. Everything was explained and shown to us, and they explained everything so well that even my 5-year-old son understood everything. We will come back in any case. Keep it up. I would definitely recommend it.

Attended a birthday party with my 8 year old and 6year old. They both had a blast! The employees were very helpful and friendly. We can't wait to go back!!

We visited TBay for a Tour of Lakehead in January. Decided to climb as an indoor activity. Friendly staff - responsible price for rental equipment and day passes. Quick education and off we went. We laughed and failed and did some climbing. Place was busy but it didn’t matter - lots of walls to choose from.

Highly NOT recommended!!!!I am disabled elder & I stopped in to use the bathroom she told me No, for customers only. So I waited in the doorway called a cab & she came & told me to leave & that I could not wait inside there!!!

We travelled 3 hours to Thunder Bay for my friends sons birthday party. I felt so bad for her. We all showed up and they had no record of a party being booked even though she had documentation! She ended up practically working the counter at the place so that the girl could periodically hook a kid up to climb a wall!!!! Now they tell her it never happened and that she’s a liar!!!! Also when her husband called to try and talk to the owner he told him if he had a problem, to come to the store to talk. When he went down there to try and reason with him, he told his workers to call 911 and say someone was trespassing!!! Brutal! This place is poorly run by a bad owner and he treats his staff terrible!

Love this place, nice staff, cute friendly dog roaming around that stays out of the way, chill people everywhere. Could be bigger and have a larger bouldering section but being as new as I am to climbing I'm thrilled that we have an indoor facility like this in tbay.
