We just moved into the area and were so excited to try this restaurant. They did not disappoint! The gentleman serving us was very nice and the prices are very reasonable for how much they give you. The lamb is amazing and I could eat their rice everyday it's so good. There's a good range of spice levels too and nothing was so hot that you couldn't taste the flavours. Definitely give this place a try (or many) if you have the chance. We will definitely be going back!

Lamb was decent rice was OK but the person doesn't pay attention to details and even after three reminder still forgot the request for extra order of soup. It's alright food given there are no other halal Somali food around Nepean area.

Very stingy unfortunately. The plate does not include salad anymore (even though it shows it on the menu) and they mix the beef suqaar with more potato than meat. I'm honestly surprised how there is so many positive reviews.

When I'm hungry I know driving on Iris Street is the only way to get to Safia (authentic Somali) Restaurant. As I sit here waiting for a tea no coffee shop makes. I'm happy that this restaurant lasted 13 years and God Willing will be here for much more.

I ordered the rice and beef, chicken and chapati, and a samosa. All 3 were delicious and the former 2 were generously sized. Meats were well seasoned and tender, the chapati was flakey and amazing, and the rice was great. Very glad I discovered this gem!

Pictures doesn't do justice, but the food was great and decent prices too. We specially liked the chicken/rice combo!

Family just moved into the neighbourhood and since we had never had Somali food, decided to give it a try. The person at the counter recommended two dinners for three to serve 5 people, while getting a good sample of dishes. The spicy chicken was spicy but no so much you couldn't taste the food. The regular chicken was very flavourful - a bit like tandoori chicken. The Beef Suqar (I think) was excellent and the rice was both copious and and flavourful. The lamb shanks though... we're all big fans of lamb and they were just superb! A definite must order in the future. Over all there was more than enough food for us all with plenty for left overs.Highly recommended!

New post 20 JuneI want to change my review…. This place is more amazing than I first stated, the food, the owner and his wife are the best people i have met in a long time. I’ve been coming here for almost a year, Adam is a great person to deal with, his wife cooks up some of the best food I have had in a long time. Amazing people, great food, and just a great place to eat!! Try the new milk cake, so good, topped with graham cracker crumbs.Great food, amazing service, Adam is a great customer service person!! I just found this place about three weeks ago and have been there 10 to 12 times. Great samosas, chicken, rice and potatoes with mixed veg and beef. Recommend this place very highly.
