I had cataract surgery and the initial implant was a success. It took about three months for my eye to stabilize but it finally felt great. Went in for my follow up and he performed laser surgery to clean up some scarring around the implant which is normal. Kurt assured me that the procedure is 99.9% successful so I shouldn’t have anything to worry about. I guess I was the .1%. I now have a large floating blob that moves around when I move my eye. At first it was thought to be a Weiss Ring (PVD) and I was told to just wait a few months and it will go away. Turns out it’s a piece of the lens that will never break down or be reabsorbed into my system. I now have this thing forever. At least with my cataract I knew where it was. Now it’s like a fly walking across a camera lens whenever i look around. I was better off with a cataract. I won’t go back. Find somewhere else to go if you value your eyesight.

Dr. Tsuyuki is good at what he does but he kept us waiting for 2.5 hours before the cataract surgery when it was at Surrey Memorial hospital. I'm sorry but that is unacceptable. I felt badly for the nurses who did their best to be supportive while we sat there in the windowless basement part of the hospital waiting forever. The office assistants are friendly but the fellow who does the follow-up right after the surgery at Dr Tsuyuki's office was arrogant. He spoke abruptly to us - he would become impatient if he had to repeat the question more than once - and it was clear that he was tired and perhaps hates his job. What a shame because Dr. Tsuyuki is very kind and friendly so it's unfortunate that this other fellow works for him

I used to be a patient of Dr Tsuyuki before moving to the east coast of Canada. I have NOTHING negative to contribute, he is great, the office staff are great. The reason for their possible grumpiness is most likely patients that keep forgetting their appointments, no shows and other entitled antics that happen. I never waited more than 20, 30 minutes and got treated with respect. If the complainers think they can do better, open up your own surgery.

Dr. Tsuyuki is an excellent opthalmologist. He recently did cataract surgery on my friend who is an emergency physician who is extremely detailed and needs precise vision. That Dr. Tsuyuki was able to fulfill his visual requirements shows how skillful Dr. Tsuyuki is. I feel sad when I see negative reviews for such a kind , caring doctor such as Dr. Tsuyuki whose training is over 12 years to become an eye surgeon.

Dr. Tsuyuki made the Cataract surgery a non event. Friendly and interested in my life and hobbies he made sure my new lens would maximize my hobby toy sail boat racing. The procedure was professional and uneventful.Dr. Tsuyuki along with a very friendly happy staff are excellent.

Dr. Tsuyuki has a good surgery skills. However, his office staffs are aweful. They are intimidating, unkind you name it. their client handling skills must be improved. If his office were not a medical office, it would have already been out of business because of his staffs. If I have an option to select ZERO star, I definitely do that.

I was not impressed at all by the negative reviews, so much so I was seriously not going to see him.I had previously seen another opthamolgist a year prior, and was not happy with his terrible bedside manners. I canceled because he was so abrupt and I thought I refuse to see this guy again. That's not how you treat your clients like cattle. Then I was refered to Doctor Tsuyuki by my optometrist. I went home and read these reviews on this platform and was horrified!I went back to my optometrist crying. So so concerned. He reassured me that he has know him for years and does a very good job, very professional! He even said that his mother and father lives in Alberta but if they lived here he would recommend Doctor Tsuyuki to them, and as he said I too would have him as my first choice

Dr. Tsuyuki's office is the worst and most unprofessional medical office I have ever been to. We had to spend 3.5 hours at this appointment due to their lack of proper scheduling. There were way too many patients booked in. If you can't do your appointments properly and are falling behind, you shouldn't be booking so many patients just to get money. Deal with your patients properly- that should be the main priority of a doctor. Also, there were absolutely NO covid protocols being followed. The office was beyond full; no social distancing or being 6 feet apart rules were followed. Everyone else has to abide by limited gatherings but this office looked like it had a party going on. Patients were using the same chairs, moving from one chair to the next, and no sanitization was being done by staff. They couldn't even spray chairs down in between patients. Not only that, all chairs were in use and right beside each other - no blocked off chairs and social distancing between them. I even talked to the doctor about it and he brushed me off. I talked to the receptionist and she replied Covid is gone basically it's not a big deal anymore".The staff was so rude and so unprofessional. It's hard to believe this is how a doctor's office was during Covid
