The Fiddle and the Sea B&B

Very nice couple (Alain and Denise) running this B&B. Rooms are very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was a very complete and elegant. Denise obviously takes great pride in this. While we had breakfast, Alain gave us an interesting overview of the history of the area, places to see, etc... . I heartily recommend this B&B

Great location! Wonderful hosts and a really great breakfast with home made bread, preserves, granola, and Strada. Rooms are very spacious and welcoming. Our host gave a slide show presentations on the history of the area and then serenaded us with his fiddle after breakfast. Highly recommend staying as the Fiddle and the Sea if you are in the area

Owners are simply the best. Friendly, polite and helpful. Room was very clean. Bed comfortable. Breakfast was AMAZING. The history lesson and fiddle playing was an unexpected treat.

Alain and Denise were wonderful hosts. Cookies and chocolate were on the table when we entered a lovely room. Everything was spotless and the beds were so comfortable.We spent the day at the beach which was a short drive away. You could probably walk to one of the 5 beaches in the area. The evening was spent in the gazebo watching the beautiful sunset.The breakfast was delicious and I was impressed when Denise inquired about allergies. We had a lovely and informative conversation with Alain about the history of Port Hood which we thoroughly enjoyed.Would definitely recommend the Fiddle and Sea as an enjoyable place to stay in Port Hood.

We stayed for two nights in mid September, immaculately kept home, with and excellent breakfast. The host gave us a brief history lesson about the area and played his fiddle during our breakfast. Great location close to the beaches and awesome scenery thanks for a great stay!

Alain and Denise moved from Quebec to build and run this B&B in Port Hood. During the marvelous breakfast, Alain shared the local history and provided a picture show of places to see in Cape Breton. Of all the places we stayed in the Maritimes over the last two weeks, this B&B was by far our favorite and was great value, especially when one considers the delicious breakfast that was included. Rooms were ample in size, with clean and modern bathrooms (One for each room - no shared bathrooms). I had a great sleep on very comfortable bedding. Was it a 5-star hotel? Maybe not, but it far exceeded my expectations and the added star is for the unique and warm hospitality received. Would definitely come back on our next trip to Cape Breton. Highly recommended.

Recently we stayed at The Fiddler and the Sea. We were impressed. The room was very clean, cozy and well appointed. Our hosts Alain and Denise we're warm, friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was spectacular, with gourmet homemade food, accompanied by beautiful fiddle music. We couldn't ask for more. We highly recommend this B&B. It is the perfect place to stay.

A cozy Bed and Breakfast with wonderful host and hostess. Our first night on the Cabot trail was wonderful. After check in, we had food with us that we ate on a special deck built to overlook the ocean. We visited for an hour or two. The room was spacious and comfortable. They had a guest room where you could sit and on cold nights enjoy a warm fire and admire the art work hung around the room.In the morning we were treated to a delicious home made breakfast followed by a video tour of the history of Port Hood. Finally, treated to a wonderful violin fiddle tune. We were in the mood to enjoy the flavor of the French Canadian experience that Cape Breton had to offer.Wonderful Bed and Breakfast.

Probably the best B&B we have ever visited anywhere. The host and hostess (Alain and Denise) were exceptional and made us feel welcome from the moment we drove up. The room and premises were clean and tidy. The breakfast was perfection and the history leason and live fiddle music made our day. I would return just for the breakfast. Thank you !!!!
