Food tasted good. But roast wasn’t actual roast. It’s actually chicken deep fry/grill. Price was high. May be typical deshi dish will be better.Bcz shutki vorta and alu vaji were better than chicken roast. Mandatory service charge and tips.

It took lil bit time but it was for some freshly cooked good foods.Chicken Roast, morog polao(Chicken with scented rice) Moglai ( Oil fried crust stuffed with eggs onion and spices) Fuchka(crunchy snacks stuffed with cooked chickpeas) everything were soo good. Loved to be in a Bangladeshi Restaurant like Appayon. Owner was also friendly

Really good bangladeshi food. Home cooking flavour. The shutki bhorta is EXCELLENT, highly recommend. The daal is also super good. Loved their chaa, authentic roadside flavour. Will definitely be going back.

A Must Try, I can bet you all your money and the taste at this place is worth every word of praise.Served with a lot of love and care.Tasted the Khichdi and the Special Kala Bhuna ( Beef ). It was out of the world.Beef Tahari is another one you should try.Call before so that you know what is available on the menu.Specials are made to make you feel special. So don’t miss them.

Food tasted below average. The Chicken roast was too sweet. Tried their Beef bhuna, pulao, murog pulao, Rui fish. Nothing tasted as authentic bengali food.2 star for the dudh chai.

In the quest of South East Asian Cuisine, we stopped at Appayon.This food made me cry, not in sad way, but in a good way. After spending few years in Canada and trying almost all Indian / Pakistani/ Bangladeshi Restaurants , I was trying to find a place where I can get real authentic Curry.When I say authentic, I mean how its made back in home ( South east Asia).I tried Chicken Korma / Naga Chicken/ Fish Curry, and this is how we used to make it back in India few years back.I highly respect people who are working here and keeping the real authentic taste of food.Thanks Appayon for this experience and bringing the real taste.Highly recommend everyone to try here.

If you want to explore the richness of flavor, spices and diversity of Bengali cuisine, do make it a point to visit the only authentic Bangladeshi and East Indian cuisine restaurant in Montreal. I have been in Montreal for the past 4.5 years and I was missing the representation of the diverse cuisines present in India. Almost all of the Indian restaurants in Montreal are either North Indian cuisine or South Indian. The East Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine with its own style of preparation was simply not available here. Appayon has majestically filled that void. And they have done it so well! The food reminded me of the food back in my hometown, Kolkata. The food preparation is done without compromising on the taste or ingredients and the menu is concise and still sufficient to satiate the palate of a Bengali cuisine enthusiast.We ordered all the fish preparations, singaras, aalu chop, dal, brinjal fry along with rice. We completely enjoyed ourselves, the food was amazing. Every preparation was to the point and excellently made. The food was not very spicy(as in hot) and we could taste all the different flavors in the different preparations. The owner, who also happened to be our server, explained that the food is prepared in the same way as one would prepare at their home. So, no compromise has been made on the preparations. Every item is made from scratch and thus every gravy and every dish will taste different. This really impressed us.The price of food is also very reasonable and similar to other budget restaurants. The service and ambiance was also great!We were so busy eating the food that we could take pictures of just few of the food items.We will surely go back there soon and would take more of our friends there. I totally recommend this place. Try this restaurant, thank me later.

My second experience trying Bangladeshi/Bengali food (both at different restaurants).Most people have tried Indian food, but not Bangladeshi/Bengali food. It's definitely a cuisine that many people need to discover. So flavourful while being also quite spicy! (can be toned down upon request).We ordered the following.Appetizers:-Haleem: beef and lentil stew. This was incredible! Warm and hearty, and nice and spicy!-Muglai Portata: Loved this one as well! It was so tasty! Crepe filled with egg omelette, chilis, chives & onions and served with a spicy mayoMains:-Beef Tehar: similar to a beef biryani-Jasmine Rice-Chicken Roast Pulao: so tender and moist, it was served with a rich, sweet gravy.-Tuna Fish Cakes: they were tasty, but I much preferred the other dishes which tasted more unique to me.Dessert:-Mishti Doi: traditional sweet yogurt dessert which is the perfect finish for a spicy mealI definitely recommend this restaurant. Casual setting.
