I was part of a group that visited on Friday, and it was an amazing day.The set up is spot on, the instructions were absolutely pitched at the right level and the general feel throughout the day was welcoming and non intrusive.Thank you for a great day, look forward to seeing you again for the axe course!!!

I went on the blacksmith experience day and later the axe making day and thoroughly enjoyed both of them. Richard is a fantastic teacher. On the blacksmith experience day I made a poker and a letter opener and was so pleased with what Richard taught me to produce. The axe making day was more intense and Richard taught us more skills. I was very happy with the axe that I had made by the end of the day.

Spent a day on the axe making course last week. Brilliant tuition and a great day learning a little part of an ancient trade. Good instruction from Richard and came away with a really good sharp and useful hand axe.

What a day, working a forge fire, hitting stuff really hard with hammers, making sparks fly from grinders. Somewhere along the journey expertly guided by Richard you end up with a fully functional personalised one of a kind axe. It's harder than you thought but like everything the more you give and put into your project the more satisfying and rewarding it is in the end.

My husband Albert said it was the best Christmas present I ever got him. He had a great day with Richard who was a brilliant teacher and along with another student Peter had a really, relaxed and enjoyable experience. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. He hopes to go back soon !

Had a birthday treat visit to the forge with my son. Thoroughly enjoyable. Richard is a great guy. Friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Clearly a very good blacksmith. A great experience and highly recommended.
