Le Génie is a French-style bakery that you're going to want to add to your cafe list. All their pastries are made in-house every morning, and they offer a variety of coffee drinks to go with them!The highlight at this spot are their pastries. The croissant was huge and it was super flakey and soft on the inside! Not only was the tart super pretty, but the crust was yummy and it was very lemon forward.Will definitely be back to try their other pastries ◡̈

Hands down the best croissant/danish I have had in Toronto. I ordered the prosciutto and cheese danish (incredibly flaky, not too salty, super fresh) and ordered a blueberry lemon danish to enjoy later today.While eating the savoury danish I was already dreaming of which croissant I would come back and get next.Delish flat white, not a game changing flat white but I appreciated the unique bean blends and it paired well with the pastry.

Nice place, pistachio croissant was delicious. It was crunchy and super creamy inside. I thought it was going to be sweet but the cream was light and not to strong pistachio flavor. I think it was good also is pet friendly in the patio and super friendly service.

I'd give this spot 3.5 stars if I could.Taking off half a star for a couple reasons. The orange juice didn't taste like fresh squeezed. Had a more Tropicana taste. At $9 for OJ...I want to taste that orange juice fresh as can be.The croissant was great and also too big. Two croissants merged into one. I think smaller would make this perfect. Great spot if you're in the area. Not a place I'd travel across the city to eat at.

Walked by and noticed they were having a soft opening. Bought a delicious peach croissant. Flaky, crispy. Perfectly balanced sweetness. I was told this is the only location and that they open on Saturday. I was also informed that some croissants take up to 3 days for the chef to make them and everything is done in French style.

Le Génie Bakery & Espresso
One of the top tier patisseries in the city, especially in the downtown core. Excellent ratio of flaky, crunchy, and goey. I always say, the layers don’t lie, and they truly don’t at La Genie, whether it was a croissant, danish, or Brest. Quality ingredients and authentic french production and taste. Quite pricey but worth it. Great service too! I always go back to try new things!

A yummy Almond Croissant and Soy Americano! The crossaint however was full of cream which I wasn't expecting and kinda weird for breakfast. This is a super nice joint, well maintained, aesthetics are on point with comfy cosy seating with a nice European style vibe.Support local businesses!

Got there very early in the morning. Everything was great and fresh. The prosciutto and cheese danish as well as the pain suisse were excellent. Light and great flavor. Their pain au chocolate is a cool shape. Im always a believer in having more chocolate but can’t fault them for having the traditional two sticks of chocolate filling only. Overall very happy with the purchase

Unquestionably, one of the best coffee shops in the area! It has it all — the ambiance, interior designs, good coffee, tasty food and pastries, and fast wifi connection. It gets busy but for good reason. The atmosphere inside was very vibrant and relaxing, and the staff are super welcoming and friendly. Overall, definitely recommend trying it out — you won’t be disappointed!
