HM Passport Office, Peterborough [Appointments only]

NEEDED A PASSPORT IN 7 DAYS - I suddenly needed a new passport in the next ten days. I booked into a 7 day Fastrack as there were no premium spots available. My appointment was 7 days before my travel. They informed me that as my appointment was after 13:00 it *may* take 8 days. I asked what I could do to speed it up. They allowed me to pay £30 extra and do a premium service. The passport was ready the following day by noon. Only drawback was that I live in south London, so lots of travel and expense.Overall I am happy. I have a passport and can travel. Please like this comment if it has been helpful.

I realised that my passport would cease to be valid several months before the expiry date, as I had obtained it before the previous one expired. I got a digital photo code, and completed the online application on a Tuesday afternoon, posted the old passport back on Wednesday. On Thursday I had an email confirming receipt of the old passport, on Friday the new passport was sent for printing, on Saturday I was emailed to say that the new passport was with the courier, and on Monday morning it was delivered. Not seven days from start to finish. This was through the Corby office, it is not often you can say this, but a 10 out of 10 experience!

Does anybody actually work at the passport office in Peterborough because every time I drive past the new office building all you can see are empty desks! They have this plush new building with all the lights on BUT no staff visible. What must this be costing the taxpayer… I understand they will be striking soon - would anyone notice.

Lost appointment because staff don't know how filing up form correctly. Interesting if they will back money fod delivery or it's just government's making money machine? Good money they are making - £131 for appointment and haven't done nothing...service from government...and its just renewal the passport.

I see a lot of negative reviews which in my experience is uncalled for. The letter asked me to arrive 10 minutes before my allocated collection time. There was a small que. There were 2 attendants who were giving out passports and it took me less than 3 minutes to fill a small form, check my passport details and sign the passport. All a very good experience with the staff extremely polite,friendly thanks very much for a pleasant experience to the collection team on 19/10/2022@ 11.30am.

I sent my son's passport 2 months ago. I got an email -vague- saying that his address wasn't clear. So I spent another €50 to get another school certificate translated and sent off.Another 2 or 3 weeks go by and I get another email - this time specific.I can't email them, I've tried calling but get stuck for 10 minutes with a registered voice.So, I'll have to write another letter - more money asking them what I can do!!!!I live abroad and don't have the luxury of making an appointment.

Documents did arrive, tracked. However, my certificate and passport were sent back to me in a flimsy paper envelope. My certificate is all scrunched up now, which is a little annoying, especially since they also included the plastic wallet which I sent my certificate to them in, except it was folded in half and thrown in there. I think this is the epitome of laziness and carelessness, I expected more from this service. Especially seeing as becoming a British Citizen was a long and very expensive process every step of the way. I do believe the Passport Office should take more pride in their work, we are expected to make sure all the documents are provided and organized in the way you want, yet you cannot take a minute to put my hard-earned certificate back in the plastic wallet which I provided? Very disappointing.
