I have partnered and interviewed with dozens of recruiting agencies over the past decades and have a good sample size of the “good and bad”. As a licensed Architect, I have participated on both sides of the hirer-employee equation and know how to “separate the wheat from the chaff”.Unbelievable that some firms will occasionally post the EXACT SAME jobs that Architecture, Design or Development firms have on their proprietary Company sites. Where is the added value of a recruiter, and how do they ethically and honestly justify their service fee? For the most cynical candidate, it signals a mild form of wage negotiation manipulation. Industry insiders report that they have (knowingly or unwittingly) peddled jobs with firms that have such bad reputations that no one in the GTA would normally touch.Newcomers to the City and general candidates may fare better by checking out the Professional Association websites (OAA, ARIDO, APEO), or if they must, globally vetted search firms (servicing junior & confidential exec roles) such as CREATIVE CIRCLE, AQUENT, RANDSTAD, and BAY STREET STAFFING. Beware - No matter the search firm or Industry, recruiters should be scrutinized with the same level of BS detection as Used Car Salespeople!

I have known Vered for a number of years and recently made a hire with her. If you are looking for hiring support within the Architect & Design industry there is no one better. Highly recommend.
