Hedley Museum & Tourist Booth, Hedley BC

Although there is no direct fee involved to enter the museum, there are donation boxes available. As we are operated strictly by volunteers, your donations, according what you are comfortable with, help keep the museum's operating costs at a minimum. Plus, your visit can and will be assisted by one of our tour guides to narrate the artifacts, photos and historical pictures. These guides are very knowledgeable of the history of Hedley and will keep you enlightened throughout your visit. Of course, should you wish, you can peruse the museum at your own pace; taking in all the incredible photographs taken from 1898 through to 1955 when the gold was depleted. These mine operations were the largest and longest running in the history of Canada.There is a tea room and gift shop available to you at the end of your visit, offering homemade lemon meringue and apple pies, along with homemade blueberry cake/store bought cheese cake. Teas, coffee, ice cream cones; floats; and sundaes. Many history books accounting the story of Hedley and artifacts/consignment items for sale. Come take a load off! We are here to serve.

The famous little mysterious Hedley. The whole area is a museum and one can enjoy the history of the village from the volunteers. Goosebumps. Just amazing feeling.

A must to visit to get the feel for Hedley's history. Super friendly volunteer staff. The exhibit is small, authentic and to the point and won't take you more 15 minutes to take in. Posters from movies shot in Hedley are on display as well. Free entry, but a donation of $3 per adult is suggested. Tea room with yummy snacks and some souvenirs. Make sure to pull the rope on the bell in the outside exhibit. Unfortunately the place closes for the season on Labour Day (2021). Hopefully the Mascot Mine tours will reopen again.

Really friendly museum run by enthusiastic, helpful and friendly volunteers. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

We learned so much here! Ruth gave us the grand tour full of interesting facts and tidbits. Hedley is rich with history. Picked up some cool handmade magnets and souvenirs at the gift shop. Will have to come back for the pie. Thank you!

We stopped in on impulse one day and are so glad we did! We had the BEST tour guide named Ruth who really took the time to tell us all about the area and stories you may not read in books. We stopped in at 2:30 and the museum closed at 4:00 so we didn't have time to go into a room FULL of books and pictures so we will definitely be going back to do that and have tea and pie as per Ruth's recommendation. Stop in - it is sooo worth it if you love pioneer history!
