Very worthwhile organization

Children with physical disabilities have VERY FEW options when it comes to community involvement Ableism is an issue most people aren’t ready to talk about yet, and BBBS is no different In fact theyre worse because they pretend theyre inclusive but the reality and experiences physically disabled kids have here tells another story My daughter is blind and had a horrible experience with BBBS which included many instances of ableism Heck someone with mobility issues cant even get into the office, its not up to code and neither is their training Its really unfortunate because this was our last option when it came to getting her out and making friends in the community, and all though the staff here admitted what happened to her was unfortunate and unacceptable, they refused to do anything about it and tried to sweep it under the rug If you have a child with a physical disability im sure you under the pain and exclusion they go through Im disappointed to learn even BBBS is ambivalent to ableism While the staff claims to care with a smile their actions say otherwise
